You'll just have to do it again.
Besides, with my house decayed out from under me, it was probably me you killed. So: revenge is mine!
Nope, this dude logged out in one of the perma-buildings next to a loot chest.
Gordon's turn to DDOS the server.
Activate Low Orbit Ion Cannon.

The new day/night cycles are fast. The moon got bigger and prettier. The sun got smaller.

How dark is night time now? If they aren't too dark I'm tempted to make the server be long nights with short days to make something different enough to be interesting, rename it to match. But I don't know if that would bring in interested new players or keep more players away.

I think it's still as dark. Also, I think that might drive people away. Hard to do anything in the dark. Plus, for some reason one can't hold a light in one hand and a gun/hatchet in the other...
The rubber banding has stopped.

You're probably right. Longer nights would be good practice, but if it's as dark as ever it would probably keep everyone else away.

I've already seen at least two new players.
Correction: Three new players online, and one's name is admitdeath, so I'm sure he's friendly.

Oxide updated to 1.16, but most of the mods won't load until they are updated. I'll keep and eye out for those and plug them in as they become available. The crafting C4 block looks to be in place, at least.
Leisher: did you see a pop-up warning of a reboot? I tried to push it through console but of course I can't log in from work to see if that worked or not.

Yes, those console announcements are coming through just fine.

Five total players currently, including me.
I can already craft a P250, 9MM, holo scope, and laser sight.
I have two research kits and a full rad suit.
Haven't found a single gun.

Yeah, lootspawnlist is one of the mods not working yet, so what you are seeing is the default loot tables.

Check the rate of decay on backpacks.
I think 5 minutes is awesome, but I was killed earlier in my shack by a wolf...I have no idea how. Anyway, I respawned there, then went west. Farmed. Stayed out until night. Did a night run on Big Civ. Came all the way back, and my backpack was still in my shack.
Maybe it's because I left a single bandage in it?
Also, check your PvP Protection rules. Might want to alter the message a bit to indicate length of time protected.

Lowkey is going to be a PvPer.
Someone around Civ Coast is very active, and armed.

I don't have any way to tweak the backpack decay rate, at least not that I know of.
The MOTD mentions the protection time for new players, so once that one is working again it will be more clear.

So resets = population attractors. I'll try not to ragekill anyone.
I guess populations as a whole will go up once more people stop hosting their own damned servers.

I've seen at least a dozen new names today. Haven't seen a single pop in/pop out. Most people have been in for a while.
So we've got an active server again. Let's not fuck it up.
Catt, no genocide.
Troy and Cake, try to keep the random killing sprees to a minimum.
As TPR and I pointed out, some folks have already outed themselves as wanting to fight. There are a few friendlies on the server right now as well.

I think Rust is at it's best when there are some people that will kill you on sight and some that will work with you, and the mix is reasonable enough that it's not insane to occasionally risk trusting someone. I'm wondering how to best push a server population towards that fine line.
How's the new batch of players looking to you, Leisher?

FINE... I'm totally wiping Leisher out though. It's not genocide if it's just 1 person, right?
