Women like you better when you're wearing a mask, can't talk, and are inaccessible.

Don't forget "is damn near completely covered up."
I went on the schedule to dive the zoo on my birthday in a few weeks.
I will have birthday sharks.

My 10th aquarium shark dive will be this Wednesday. Last week one of the 6-foot zebra sharks swam directly into the side of my head while everyone was watching. It's a good thing my mic wasn't hot because I'm pretty sure I said, "Oh shit" when it happened.
But I have been hitting shitty luck for open-water diving this summer.
Every week I am trying to get the kid in a quarry to keep his skills tight, we have a Lake Superior wreck-diving trip happening in September. There's maybe 2 days out of the week when everything lines up... not a weekend (too many divers in the water on weekends), and there are no other obligations through the day, and the frikkin dive shop is open to rent gear (he takes a a few days off during the week, and his 1-7pm hours suck for trying to organize a morning dive... ie, have to rent the gear the night before).
Anyway, for the last 4 weeks, the two-ish days a week when we could go dive.... thunderstorms.
This year has been great for the garden but shitty for scuba diving.

Planned to go this Friday because the forecast was clear and sunny.
Now it's 80% chance of thunderstorms.
Sigh.

10th aquarium dive today went swimmingly. Get it?
Also got permission to take in the GoPro this Sunday. I'll see if that mask side-mount clip works.

Prioritize filming the before-mentioned women in low cut tops. Thanks. Sharks good too.

Been watching the weather forecast change to, and from, and to, rain for the last week, but they finally settled on 20% chance. We finally got a couple dives in today, back to Gilboa Quarry, a place we hit in August 2016 with the submerged jet plane and the trout rush. Much the same this year... except this time we brought fish food, and those 2-foot-long trout go so crazy that they knock your mask off/regulator out of your mouth in their feeding frenzy. My kid said he lost his regulator twice but I couldn't even see him from 3 feet away through all the fish... but he kept his head and just put it back into his mouth. Good stuff.
We used his new/used BC for the first time that I got off ebay, and it worked flawlessly. It's nice because it has built-in pockets for weights which is great for him because it means he doesn't need to wear a weight belt... and with his nonexistent hips weight belts slide right off of him, usually 30 feet under water. So the new BC was great.
We had 2 flawless dives with a max depth of 45 feet, 70 total minutes of bottom time, and a minimum water temp of 57 degrees. Twas 81 on the surface with a thermocline at about 20 feet. I might find myself motivated tomorrow when more awake and put a clip on youtube.

Ok, ok, enough with all the emails. Here's a couple vids of random 3-minute chunks of time.

Took a while to upload and process but here it is.
The first few minutes the camera was tucked into a strap on my chest while I fed the fish.
The next few minutes I am holding the camera in my hand as I wave at kids.
At 9:20 a frikkin zebra shark swims right into me as I am waving, and I bat it around a little bit, accidentally. One second I am waving, the next second I have a hand full of shark.
But I think it gets good at 9:39 when I plant it in the gravel and let it just watch me as I swim around. Also the reef fish seemed fascinated by it so they are everywhere in the shot.

It'd be cooler if that tank had great whites in it.

If I were rich, I'd buy you tickets. Sigh, we really need to win that lottery.
