Truth.

Can you sign my iPad so I can sell it?
GORDON wrote: I made so many changes that Kindle considered them not corrections, but a new edition, and corrections would not be carried down to peeps who already bought it... like, all 7 of you.
Da fuq?

Got some interesting verbal feedback this evening, "The problem I'm having with it is that this young girl is enjoying it so much."
To which I answered, "She has been drugged nonstop, and groomed by an experienced pedophile, and has no other parental guidance. Of course she likes it, this happens in the real world every day. It's why they invented the phrase 'grooming.'"
After a moment, "Good point."

I started today. I made the mistake of also listening to Hamilton for the first time, but switched to other music since that got distracting.
Good so far. The 3rd person omniscient viewpoint is throwing me off, having read so many 3rd person limited books in a row before this.

One of the themes I tried to explore was that communication = good, secrets = bad. Omniscience in the storytelling was a way I expressed that.
How far in are you that you still consider it "good?" I've gotten almost zero useful feedback so far.

25% - The chapter that opens with Erin in the hospital, recovering, then goes to her back story. Remember that you're in 3rd person omniscient. The narrator knows who the person is. It felt muddled for the first two paragraphs, iirc.

Interested note about the first book... Because I turned the timeline inside out, there's about 2 years of writing experience... And 250k words... Between some of the chapters/sections. Originally, the opening 75 pages didn't even exist, but I decided to "start at the end," and I needed to write an aftermath. So the beginning was some of the last stuff I wrote, when I had relatively more writing experience.
The part with Lucy flashing back to giving her mother medicine was written a couple years ago, by comparison. I feel like I can feel a difference in the writing style. Also, that section was one that kept me up at night. It disturbed me.
So, circling back around to the point, some parts of the book are much older, and written with more experience, than other parts. And I've never had a professional editor through any of.this, so I expect a little slack to be.cut.

I will say this... I'm glad I'm reading this on a work trip, it's a total boner killer.

Good. I was very concerned that people would think I was writing erotica. But I still need you to read the "Erin's Life" section. That's where the dangerous stuff is.

Been thinking of a short story that would have the potential to be a recurring character.
It is the end times, and Satan comes to claim the earth. The only thing that can EASILY stop him is a guy that already survived hell in the form of 20 years of marriage.
Too on the nose?

Currently 108k words in book 2. Doing a partial rewrite, 30% done, wild ass guess is final count will by 100k words. Just putting that here to see how close I get.

Too on the nose, and honesty, hacky. It's a joke that's been done to death.

I've put a lot of thought into the concept of "Mary Sue."
