DTM Rust Server
I did not kill you. Was your pack still there (died at log in) or no?
This worries me because I logged out with a TON of metal on me.
Trying to log in now to check my status and the server appears to be down.
20 lq metal and leather is VERY expensive. I think that is more of a deterrent to crafting them than requiring paper.

I didn't kill you either, was on the west side.Leisher wrote:-TheCatt was nowhere around, but it's possible he killed me. I doubt it though because none of the furniture was harmed.
-SC Jim killed me. He'd have to be a hacker to do so, and why did he kill Cake and Taz sleeping in the next room.
I found some explosives today too, but I'm cool with that.
It's not me, it's someone else.
I saw it looked like that at lunchtime, but the posts seemed to hint that it was working so I didn't worry.
Nothing on their twitter feed about server outages. I'll dig into it. May have to report the problem.
EDIT: Ticketed. Now we see if their customer support is any good.

Rust server has been down all day. No general outages reported on twitter, and I can't access any logs or other files to see what the problem might be.
"Status: Unknown" on main screen. Attempting a Steam Update failed (timed out). Going to File Manager results in the following error:
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 208.117.11.45:8881
Exception: Check Logs\Web\20140219-error.log for details. Timestamp of the entry is 02/19/2014 19:30:21.
Please help? I'd prefer not to have a map reset if at all possible, of course.

Well, that was pleasantly fast:

Hello James,
Unfortunately the IP address that your service is hosted on has been Null routed due to a large DDoS attack. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this but it was necessary to null route the IP address to stop the attack from effecting other servers and clients in this data center. Your service will return to normal once the attack has either been mitigated/filtered or stopped. We thank you for your patience in this matter and rest assured we are working as hard as possible to restore service to this IP address.

So I think that may have been the wrong thing to do. I suspect this increased decay by a factor of 10 instead of decreasing it.TPRJones wrote:I don't know how to turn off decay, but I just put in "decay.decaytickrate 30" which should cut decay by ten. So ten days of not being in your house before it starts to decay. That good?
I've now set it to 3000, so hopefully decay will now be ten times slower. If that doesn't seem to be the case let me know and I'll just put it back to 300 and give up.
