Here's David Boston running back a punt for a TD against Mark May's Pitt Panthers. The thing to note is that OSU goofed up and only had 8 men on the field...

Damn shame. He'd fit in perfectly with today's NFL players.

OK, to be clear, when you say his Panthers, you just mean the team he played for many many years earlier. He was in no way affiliated with them at that time?

"His" Panthers, yes.

It's been discussed elsewhere that the 72-0 game specifically led to his bias against Ohio State.

College Football Playoff Rankings

Only 1 team from the SEC.

I'll give the voters credit. Instead of the bullshit "go up unless you lose" that the AP does, they're actually looking at quality of wins. I think they also have a bias towards not over-representing any conference, but we've got a lot more games to go before that matters.

ND's low rating in the inaugural one, moving FSU down due to sloppy wins. Agree.

I almost want an 8 team playoff though. :)

They say SOS will hurt OSU's playoff chances.

I wonder when someone on the playoff committee will say, "It just occurred to me that none of the SEC teams play anybody out of conference. All of their SOS are falsely overinflated because all the ranked teams they play are SEC teams overhyped into bullshit rankings like South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas A&M all being in the top 10 at some point this year."

And when is someone going to question how Mississippi State got all of these 5 star athletes to start committing to them out of the blue? They literally went from Northwestern status to top 5 recruiting classes overnight. This is the school that Yahoo said was trying to give Cam Newton $800k to play there...

Speaking of overrated QBs, there's talk that Braxton Miller is looking at Florida State. The way Barrett is playing, Braxton has three options:
1. Go pro (If he was good enough, people wouldn't be talking about his return to college as a graduated senior.)
2. Transfer
3. Move to RB or WR (and let's be honest, this is where he'll end up in the pros).

I like the 4 team playoff, but it does mean 1 conference will be left out each year. That sucks, but how do you do a 5 team tournament?

FSU completes the "protect Winston" trifecta.

Fuck you FSU. You're going out of your way to protect an illegal money taking, rapist, thief, and point shaver. Congratulations for showing what kind of integrity you have.

Meanwhile, the big game is coming. Here's a shot courtesy of an MSU guy:

Alabama played WVU, won by 10, home.
Auburn played KSU, won by 6, away.
Miss played Boise State, won by 22, home
MSU played crappy teams.
Arkansas played crappy teams.
LSU beat wisconsin by 4 at home.
Georgia played Clemson, won by 24 at home.

OSU played Va Tech, lost by 14; beat Cincinnati by 22
MSU lost to Oregon by 19.

There just isn't a lot of cross-pollination.

FSU's chances taking a big hit today with Clemson getting blown out, and Notre Dame losing to Northwestern of all teams.

Being behind against The U aint helping.

TCU barely squeaks by Kansas... Bama holds off MSU.

ESPN actually ran a front page article on why OSU belongs in the playoffs.

I'm very skeptical about our defense, but the article actually makes some solid points. Still, if we get in great, I have no expectations that we'll win anything. If we don't great, I think we're going to be really good next year.

Football needs to stop allowing for 2nd division opponents. Meanwhile, each Big 5 should be required to play at least 1 other non-conf Big 5.

I think they need to do something to expand the playoffs so that the conference champ from every conference gets in. Once that happens, all talk of which conference is the best goes out the window.

They could expand it to 6 so there's room for a Notre Dame or mid-major team that's excelling, like the undefeated Marshall.

Winston not punished yet again.

Why do I feel like this kid is a 30 for 30 waiting to happen?

Barrett going down sucks. We'll see what Jones can do. People are going to talk about him a lot this week, but the real question is can OSU's defense show up and stop Wisconsin's running game?
