After two weeks, we finally get the answer to, "What's more powerful than Batman and Superman put together?"

The Jungle Book is going to kill everything next week.

100% rating currently at Rotten Tomato with 21 reviews.

BvS isn't doing as well financially as Man of Steel.

And here comes the studio to "fix" the DC movies.

Seriously, how fucking difficult is it to look at what Marvel is doing and copy that? One guy, who is familiar with the source material, is the final word on the entire movie universe. Instead WB seems to be taking the various properties and giving them to directors with no clear plan or direction.

Now rumors seem to be flying about all kinds of goings on behind the scenes. Recently there was word that they'd be going back into SUICIDE SQUAD reshoots with the intent of making it lighter and funnier.

We're not saying we're panicking like chihuahuas during a thunderstorm and are going to copy Deadpool but...

The problem is that's exactly what they are doing. But instead of copying the underlying approach and methodology that Marvel has established for making good superhero films, they are copying the shallow surface layers of what they see. People liked seeing the super fights in Winter Soldier, so we'll have to be sure our heroes fight each other! And we'll make it dark and moody because people like that! And I think Malcolm is right; now they will start aping Deadpool without understanding why it was so successful, and just make things that are painfully bad to watch because it's clearly trying too hard.

My pick would be Bruce Timm but I don't think he could stand the execs. They have to hand over complete control. There's just no fucking way they'll let it happen. WB is famous for fucking with things.

Bruce would be a decent selection, but I think they'd keep him in the animation department.

Geoff Johns might be a better pick, but that would come at the expense of their comic line. Although, who cares because I'm pretty sure they're rebooting again really soon.

If they wanted to be ballsy, they'd give it to Grant Morrison.

WB: reshoots totally not about comedy. By the way, the author looks paid off.
Although reshoots can sometimes indicate that something is wrong behind the scenes, everyone involved in the production of Suicide Squad has continuously shown nothing but support for the quality of the project. Between the sheer lunacy of Jared Leto’s Joker, to Jai Courtney’s recent labeling of David Ayer as "psychotic," Suicide Squad seems primed to absolutely kill it this summer.

If by "it" you mean any chance of a DC film universe ever getting off the ground, then yes. BvS didn't have much competition. SS will.

Movie was okay. Better than critics gave it credit for I think, but not great. Never been a huge Superman fan. Too overpowered with one weakness ended up making the stories formulaic to me. Or they would delve off into his emotional psyche to the point that he;s almost emo. Which was where this one ended up. Oddly that didn't bother me much in the first Superman movie. I think because that one was about him finding himself and where he fit in with this world. He seemed to get there by the end of the movie, so it was kind of disappointing for him to be in the same head space again.

I didn't feel like Afflack was the worst part of the movie. Actually felt like he did a decent job really. The Luthor character seemed not written very well. As I said, not a huge Superman fan, so the Lex I know is from the old comics (early 70's and before) and from Smallville. He always seemed to be motivated by what's good for Lex without bothersome moral constraints. This Lex just seems like an evil cultist of some sort.

As a setup to coming movies, a mixed bag. Being a fan of the TV series, no interest in an unrelated Flash movie. Maybe on Aquaman. Gal Gadot did a really good job as Wonder Woman and I found myself most interested in seeing her movie. She rocked her role in this. I kind of felt bad for Amy Adams for being closer in hotness to Diane Lane than Gal Gadot.

Response to the film "humiliated" Affleck and he's taking a larger role.

I think WB is realizing that having Zach Snyder at the helm isn't the best move.

By the way, BvS never hit $1 billion worldwide... ouch.

Because Affleck can do better with superhero material...

Also, worldwide $864,695,133 take for Daredevil v. Superman, according to Box Office Mojo. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Justice League villain was revealed in BvS.

But then cut?

Best part? I can't find anyone who knows who the fuck he is...

All those villains and they want to use a bit player? Weird.

Although Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was especially intense for a PG-13 movie, the "Ultimate Edition" is including extended or brand new action scenes that are more comfortable nestled in rated-R territory. So if you liked the original version’s fights, get ready for even more bombastic throw-downs.
Did Warner Brothers write that shit?

There was nothing "intense" about the shitty fight scenes in BvS.

Just finished watching the Extended Edition.

Spoilers follow, like anyone cares. FUck you.

1. They flesh out more of what happened in the desert. As Lois investigates, she learns what really happened, who was doing it, and why. The woman who testified that Superman came and burned them all comes forward and admits to being paid to lie. This sheds an entirely different light on what was about to happen in Congress when it blew up. Lois picks up her bullet-hole-journal off the ground herself, it isn't just stupidly mailed to her and we never find out who did that.

2. They flesh out more of why Superman felt he had to take action against Batman. Clark Kent ignores the black version of what is supposed to be white Perry White of reporting the sports contest and instead investigate Batman's actions, and the consequences thereof. It then makes more sense when he shows up and says, "The bat is dead, next time they shine your little light don't answer it, consider this mercy."

3. They explain a little better why Lex Luthor was a fruit loop at the end of the movie, when he's caught he appears to be actively praying to that black demon thing in the Kryptonian ship.

4. And I still say they did an adequate job of explaining why Batman went off the rails. Time, frustration, and despair got to them all, Superman even says, "Nobody can stay good forever" at one point. Luthor even said he had been pushing Batman over the edge for two years, and it surprisingly didn't take much.

5. They explain better why Superman didn't see the senate bomb. It wasn't that he was getting complacent because, as they suggested, his relationship with Lois was a distraction.... Lois finds out the wheelchair had a coating of lead on the inside. So yeah.

6. They also show a lot more of public backlash against Superman at one point, burning him in effigy like they were in some middle eastern shithole.

So yeah, 30 minutes added to the flick. Whatever.

I still think Wonder Woman had a great entrance near the end. Still looking forward to watching them make a shitty movie about her.

I consider her the highlight of the film still.

The whole point of his character over the years is that he didn't lose his calm.

But you're right, it doesn't matter that they take an original property and completely change everything about it. Because they know better and fuck the established fans. Who are we to complain?

I mean it's not like the movie was critically panned, hated by fans, and a huge financial disappointment for the studio...

On that note, you need to completely revamp your opinion of Starship Troopers and the planned remake.

The Ultimate Edition is definitely a better cut of the film and does flesh out some things, but all my original criticisms remain.

I still think the overall story line is terrible. I still think Jesse Eisenberg was horribly miscast and is the worst thing in a movie of bad things. In fact, I'm even more bewildered by his character's motivations and behavior.. I still can't get over Batman trying to stop Superman from carelessly murdering people by carelessly murdering people...

I really don't blame Zach Snyder as that guy can make taking a shit look spectacular, but WB executives never should have green lit this movie without a plan.

But all that being said, it's still entertaining.

One thing I noticed in this second viewing that I didn't notice the first time around is that the music is complete dog shit. Wonder Woman's big debut is the best example of it. It's horrible, and the shot they hold is awkwardly long.

Watch and see how much better DC films get now that they have Geoff Johns in the Kevin Feige position.
