I'm not a fan of his speech writers.

A-men, and if he could deliver them without putting even the zealots to sleep, that'd be nice. :glare:

Right. We didn't try throwing a part with strippers and midgets for Saddam to get him to comply.

Mmmm....midget strippers.....

Moore says his movie sold out in Fayetteville, NC, home of the 82nd ABN.

Hehehe.
According to a reader, this isn’t as big a triumph as Moore makes it sound.
Michael Moore’s latest comments about selling out the theatre in Fayetteville, NC are a bit misleading as should be expected from him. The theatre he sold out only has 38 seats per showing and there were seven showings which comes to approximately 266 tickets. Not exactly a blockbuster, as a resident I know there are more liberals here than that.

'Fahrenheit 9/11 ' opened Friday in Poland to some early reviews comparing director Michael Moore's polemical style to the heavy-handled propaganda of the country's former communist rulers.

From here.

They've only had their freedom since the 80's. It hasn't occurred to them yet to wipe their asses with it.

Aye, I heard Lech talk at my first college. Damn interesting speech, though his translator had to be an ex-East German lesbian.

I am so enlighened now. I can't believe I have never seen the truth before.

Heh Had you going. The real review.

Cups of truth. Surrounded by mountains of dung.
Had me laughing the Mikey suggested that Bush instilled fear in the public just to influence them. What a Hippocrit.

Was fixing one of the fucked up computers of the customer service staff yesterday & heard it on the radio. Something like $83 million?

I have no problem with him suing Moore, he didn't interview him and used the quote out of context. However, $75 mill for him and $10 mill for her seems a little excessive.
Damon is asking for up to $75 million because of "loss of reputation, emotional distress, embarrassment, and personal humiliation."

In addition, his wife is suing for another $10 million because of the "mental distress and anguish suffered by her spouse."

That's a lot of humiliation.

Congress hasn't capped defamation lawsuits yet, so more power to him.

You know the court decision will be swayed by the ratio of republicans to democrats on the jury.

$85 mil is kinda excessive & the crime don't exactly fit the punishment. Legally, asking for that sort of settlement is a joke. However, I wouldn't terribly mind seeing it happening just cos Mike uses cheapo editing tricks.

Once again, I spoke without engaging my brain again. I forgot in civil suits it isn't an all or nothing, so going high makes a lot of sense.

It makes sense, but it's still not justified.

Fuck Michael Moore.

He's nothing more than a shock jock who makes movies.

Yeah but he was invited to the Democratic National Convention, so he must be smart and important. Didn't he sit next to Jimmy Carter?

And hey, I guess Al Gore said it was OK to lie and exaggerate in order to make a point you feel is REALLY important.

How do you raise a kid with integrity any more?

Me: Hey kid, don't lie. Have honor.

Al Gore: It's ok to lie, sometimes.

Kid: Hey Dad, he was the vice President and he says it's ok to lie.

Me: Well, some people stretch the truth in order to get what they want, even people you're supposed to respect.

Michael Moore: Saddam Hussein loved puppies and kittens!

Kid: Dad, why do you approve of Saddam getting executed when he loved puppies and kittens? Don't you love puppies and kittens?

Me: Well, he is stretching the truth, too. I really don't think Saddam loved puppies and kittens, except maybe for a meal.

Jimmy Carter: Illegal war! Look at me! Illegal war! Build houses for the poor instead!

Kid: So does everyone lie, always?

Me: Many people in authority lie in order to keep power... some do it to make money by pandering to the masses, yes.

John Kerry: I said Saddam had a WMD program before I said he didn't. That wasn't a lie, that was a mistake. But the President lied.

Kid: So you and mom lie to me about stuff?

I mean, you don't want to raise a cynic, but you don't want to raise a gullible rube, either.
