It worked, just spent the past 1.5 hours playing:

Overall:
Graphics are very smooth, as would be expected for something still doing standard TV signal. Controls are very natural, size is very small. Wireless setup was very easy (easier than a laptop for sure).

Games:
Bowling: [2/5] Sorta fun.
Tennis: [3/5] A bit repetitive, would be more fun with others.
Boxing: [4/5]Pretty fun. Controls were fun, sorta like real punching.
Baseball: [1/5] Eh. Controls are too simple, not enough to do in the game.
Golf: [4.5/5] Very fun. I've always liked computer golf games, and while I can't quite get the feel for putting, the overall game works well.

Ya, we still can't figure putting out either. I thought the bowling was done pretty well for a free game. Tennis is fun with more people, but more dangerous too. 4 people is tight unless you have a big room. Boxing seems to miss some of our swings. Baseball is exactly what you said.

I'll wait for a real golf game before I throw out a 4.5 though. ;-)

Yeah, too much realism isn't what I want from a golf game. I really like miniature golf, and computer golf seems analagous to me.

Boxing seems to miss some of my (and the wife's) swings as well. Particularly the nunchuck (left hand) ones.

I think you two have sold me on getting a Wii.

Now I just need a reason to get a PS3 and I'll have the set. So far, I'm not seeing one.

PS3........... um.........

Wait two years, then there will be plenty of games, and they'll be cheaper, and the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD thing may have been decided. :)

Why pick one when you can get all three, and the proceeds even go to charity.

You can get 3rd party component and S-video cables for the wii at bestbuy.com now.

There are also wireless sensor bars on the way so you don't need to follow the 10 ft from the TV rule anymore.

You must have Raving Rabbids then. . .

There are mini games in it where that's pretty much what you have to do. Sometimes, you have to use two hands.

I got a second one on Amazon's thing on Tuesday, so I was able to resell that one, and end up having the original one I bought for essentially list price - woot.
