That's been a common complaint for years, but they still haven't budged so it probably won't be changing.
Although I wouldn't say "no" customization. The back/forward/reload/home buttons and address bar are nailed down, sure, but everything after that and on the line below can be customized. With some creative use of javascript bookmarks you could make all sorts of custom buttons on the bookmark bar.

Google takes aim squarely at Adobe Flash, the shittiest technology in widespread use on the web today. Fuck Flash.

It's screwing up their data on you. They need pristine data to fetch top dollar for your browsing habits.

Didn't Microsoft try something like that over a decade ago?

I suppose you could start paying for all your searches online, but that seems shittier. On the other hand, you could use a search anonymizer.

I doubt an anonymizer would do much against the actual browser itself. Why do you think they got into the browser business to begin with?

Root the phone. Put you own browser on.

I imported my bookmarks from FF, but I can't figure out how to access them in Chrome, once I removed the "Bookmark Bar," which is a concept I have always hated. I want to click a word that says "Bookmarks," or an icon representing that, and get my bookmarks to drop down in a list. How do I do that.
I even had to type in the address for this site to get here.

Also, how do I do an Ad-Block adon?

Also, is it possible to get a search window on the browser, or do I need to open a new tab every time?

1) Bookmarks are a word under the hamburger icon
2) Ad Block plus:
3) Just type words into the address bar (Alt-D shortcut to get there). If it recognizes that you are searching, the icon turns into an hourglass.

Don't have any words, nor a hamburger.... even hitting alt didn't bring up a context bar like I am used to. How do I customize the browser bars?

By hamburger he means the three lines on the far right.
I haven't looked, but I bet someone has made a plug-in that would stick an icon up there that drops down into a list of your bookmarks. Would save you a mouse movement compared to going to the hamburger.

That's what they call that fucking thing? Looks more like an oil drum.

I never heard that until now. I just thought of it as the menu button.

Now I understand what he means by "under the hamburger."
I turned the "Bookmark Toolbar" back on but arranged my bookmarks so they are all in a single folder, which looks like a single button on the toolbar. So I am getting what I want in spite of what their designers think I should have.
