Oh, and don't forget to include www.mircocenter.com in your pricing. I buy most of my stuff from them now because they are cheaper than newegg even with tax. Especially on CPU and motherboards. Super discounted CPU and MB often come with $50 off when purchased with a CPU.

Not familiar with ITX though. Looks really small. Could be cool. Not sure if you could put a video card in that PCIe slot either. I'll let you do the research to see if this would work for you.
OH, and when you add it to your cart, you'll see that it also comes with 8GB RAM.
You keep posting unavailable shit.

You are too slow in your old age. Give me your credit card number and I'll just buy the next one so you don't miss it.

Case? If you're building a cheapo why does it need a case? Just nail the parts to a small square of particleboard and call it done.

It occurred to me to build a PC into the wall of my basement. I could do that.

I thought about doing one of these after having heating issues once

The only downside would be the fan noise.
Better add headphones to the build.

Bah. Go straight liquid cooling and pipe the outflow to your hot water heater.

I tried convincing Cake once to use the Michigan winter as a heat sink for a water cooled rig... run the pips outside. He didn't have the balls to do it.

ITX is a very very very small form factor. Smaller than Micro ATX even. I ran a Micro ATX for about 4 years, and when it came time to beef it up things just did not fit anymore. If you're trying to build him a computer that he can build upon over the years, I would NOT recommend the ITX form factor, and I'd steer clear of the Micro ATX even. Stick to standard ATX, leaves you plenty of room for expansion in the future, not really that big. I built the Micro ATX with the intentions of LAN parties every weekend. . . . . That rig left the house maybe once a year if that. Not worth the extra money you pay to downscale important parts (Ex: Mobo, PSU, GPU. . . )

Pick the vid card, then the mobo, then the case, then go from there.

Screw that SSD in the $1,200 build, instead put that towards an i7! SSD's die too quickly, not worth the $$$ in my opinion.

I love my SSDs. All 3 drives in my laptop are SSDs. My boot RAID on my server is SSD. Boot RAID on the wife's PC = SSD. Love them. Absolutely worth it.

SSDs beat the shit out of HDDs. What brands are you buying such that your failure rate is higher than the mechanical equivalent?

Just bought it, along with a 21.5" lcd monitor for $99.
Newegg always denies my credit cards the first time I try. We'll see.

Looking at this thing, it pretty close to my own gaming system. He should be happy.
I almost bought 2 of them to make one of them the new server.

They accepted my $500 payment on the first try. Behold the power of my Amazon credit card.
Or behold its lax security. Either/or.

Me and the kid built it today. The video card doesn't require extra power... I am a little concerned about that. Haven't installed the OS to test it all, yet. He thinks it is the new server, not his own Xmas present, so I'll have to finish it off while he is in school.
