By Google, probably not much at all. Government doesn't pay diddly. Now selling your info to advertisers, that's another story.
I don't buy that for a second. Google is being given jet fuel and a landing strip by the military if I recall an article somewhere.
There's a reason the feds never sued them for all the passwords and email they "accidentally" picked up with their little Google mobiles.

Until they hit bottom (or OD) the heroin addict thinks his dealer is making his life better as well.

Google isn't providing shit that poisons me. It's what they do with my incidental data that annoys me.

I love what they do.
Today I started getting reminders of where I parked my car.

I like Gmail. I hate the fact that Google's scraping it for advert info.

98% of what i use gmail for is just forwarding my dtman.com email through it, and allowing it to scrub the spam. They can scrape for advertising all they want, I don't see their ads in my email client.

I'll go to gmail directly when on the road, but that is usually no more than 10% of the year.

John Oliver's take:
Worse, "the guy who used to run the cable industry's lobbying arm is now running the agency tasked with regulating it." This would be Tom Wheeler.
"That's the equivalent of needing a babysitter and hiring a dingo," he said.

I can't even tell if that's a joke.

So is that a changing electronic billboard, and the website is the bullshit they envision for the future?
If do, the website is subtle. I know what I am looking at and it still looks legit.

I believe the billboard does change. Might not be electronic though.
Click the link to see the website, and then try clicking on a plan. You'll see what they've done.

Payola, a word I had to look-up. Sounds right though.
