Besides I can't play with you, GORDON, I spend way too much time in Dungeon Defender looking at all the green dots and comparing armor and weapons.

He had a habit of clicking ready before anyone else was or before all the items were picked up.

Now Stranger does it.

I would NEVER do that.

Because Gordon and Stranger do it for me.

Yeah, I love the thumbs up/down icon. Just grab everything that is thumbs up until I get the best ones, then blanket sell everything else. Takes me about a minute to settle up after clearing a level.

The thumbs lie. The single biggest factor in the thumb system in Dungeon Defenders is how many levels the item can have. If you are paying cash to level up all your items to their full capacity then that makes sense. If you are not (and I never did until getting closer to 80), then the thumbs are almost completely useless.

Also, you don't have to pick up every item. Any items left on the floor are automatically cashed out and shared amongst all the players equally. Just FYI there.

And I don't care if the thumbs aren't always accurate! I don't see it as worth my time to agonize over it. It's close enough.

Also, did NOT know the items auto cash out. I have been scolded for not picking them all up before. Is loot distributed evenly among the party?

My experience has been that if you aren't leveling your gear then in the levels between 20 and 60 the thumbs were wrong roughly 80% of the time. An 80% failure rate is not "close enough".

If you are spending all your cash leveling every piece of gear to it's max, though, then the thumbs are indeed close enough. But you're probably pretty broke by now if so.

It's close enough when you have a 95% success rate grabbing close enough weapons and don't upgrade them at all.

I'm not sure Gordon is arguing that he's using the best of the best weapons. He's arguing that you can have mission success using sub par weapons.

So in the end, Gordon and I can play the SAME game TRP and Leisher play, with the same amount of success, except quicker. And we may end up with a higher profit given that we are selling some of the better weapons, yet still killing all the monsters.

I am trying to upgrade a weapon. I hit "Invest all." I cannot then hit "Apply upgrade." Why?

Actually, if you try doing that without partners who are carrying the better weapons, you'll have far less success.

Enemies scale as you level, and if you're not leveling your weapons, you will lose.

And yes, that 5% can mean the world.

Disagree. We don't win maps by 5%. We win big, or we lose big.

Gordon:
Invest all, then select the item above that you want to upgrade. You don't click and 'upgrade button', you click the attribute you want to increase.

Tring to play that level with the flying demon and tesla coils, solo, on Insane level.

I do fine until the last 2 waves... the little dudes with bombs strapped to their backs just run through 3 layers of defenses like they are not there. It only takes 2 or 3 of them to destroy the nexus. What the hell.

Yeah. No matter how many barriers are in place, those guys run right through them and they kamikaze my nexus.

Other people use the barrier from the XG9 (or something like that) character you can play. She/it/he creates an energy barrier that you can draw and make different sizes. Maybe that's what you need to keep them out?

Is there any way to increase the time you have in the Build Phase? Playing solo there is about half as much time as you need to clear every chest, all the dropped mana, setup/repair turrets, etc.

Ummm. Don't hit the nexus and start the timer! But really, I didn't think the timer started until you hit it. Maybe it's an insane thing?

It is an insane thing. On Hard, you get like 5 minutes for build time. On insane you get 60 or 90 seconds. It isn't enough time 2 or 3 waves in.
