I just got "aPower-something" working, but it seems to be only video, not audio.
Like video and audio you took? Or what? For those, I just use the photos app on my Pixel, I think.

Project your Pixel phone's screen
If you have a Chromecast, Nexus Player, or other device that can cast, you can show your Pixel phone's screen and audio on a TV. To use Chromecast with your Pixel phone, first check the requirements for Chromecast devices.

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 8.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.
Cast your screen
Open your phone's Settings app.
Tap Connected devices And then Connection preferences And then Cast.
On the list, tap the device where you want to show your screen.
Tip: You can add Cast to Quick Settings. Learn about Quick Settings.

Unless the video has a dedicated cast button, like youtube or such

Fuckers just sent me a brand new Chromecast "Free" for being a subscriber. I'm only a little bitter since I bought it when it came out. But I was pondering a 2nd for the other TV, so it's a win.

This thing needs more storage. Only 4GB is usable. So I can fit like 5 apps.

I still think Roku is the easiest to navigate and use. Chromecast is second. Fire just sucks.

Everything we have is Google, so I prefer to stay in the environment. I can talk to it, cast to it, etc.

I don't watch any shows on network TV any more, and very few shows from anywhere else. Like, rick and morty, game of thrones whatever, and i hate-watch wheel of time.

But for background noise i turn the TV on and find something interesting to not watch, and for that I've been using GoogleTV.

I have no idea how accessible it is. I wonder if it is a thing I can load on my Roku, or watch in a broser. I watch it on my (Google) Chromecast, so the "Live TV" option, which is GoogleTV, is baked right into the interface. And there's a few hundred channels, and even broken down into categories, like News, Movies.... there are 69 movie channels (nice). And there's usually something worth not watching.

Which brings me to my point: There's a brand new Star Trek channel. It's just ST movies 24/7. And before they air First Contact, they usually show the TNG TV episodes where Picard gets Borgified.

The channel has been playing for about 3 days in my house, and it sort of makes me happy.
