He's in Minnesota. From STL area. Where I am now. It's like I'm taking a tour of Malcolm's life.

Oh, well, that's practically Michigan from over here. That explains it.

Because there's a Hell, Michigan and it makes sense that he'd be from there?

Three forum members now reside in Michigan, and Michigan is proud to not count Malcolm among their number.

This isn't the thread in which we mentioned it before, but I can't remember which it was and this one came up in a search.

There are basically no traffic laws in Toledo, any more.

I mentioned before, since traffic camera tickets were declared unconstitutional, and people are backlashing against police, I've seen zero cops on toledo streets for months, now. And I noticed that speeding became legal, they aren't enforcing speed limits, anywhere .

But this last week, I saw three people run reds.... Not rushing to barely beat the yellow, but stopping, seeing no cross traffic, and "fuck it" through a red light. And, I saw a middle turn lane used as a high speed passing lane.

There don't seem to be consequences any more, so I hope this doesn't snowball effect ... But of course it will.

Again, I have seen TPD, Northwood, and state running radar and pulling people over on my commutes.

I definitely see more traffic violations and speeders, but the cops are still out there. I also think the overall speed of the expressway has risen. Previously, general traffic would be doing 1-5 over. Now it seems like most people are doing 6-10 over.

I wish there were more along my commute. I literally drive 50 miles through the city every school day, and I haven't seen police in months.

Blame budget cuts. Fewer cops means traffic violations become less important.

Can't believe writing 4 tickets a day at $200 per doesn't pay for a cop being on the road.

In other news, installing lights on the Anthony Wayne bridge about to enter it's 3rd winter, with half the lanes closed (the reason my kid got hit by a car, that day). Usually no one is out there working, sometimes I see as many as 5 construction workers at once. It must be nice to have years and years of job security.

Forgot to mention, suddenly I see THREE police on the road during my commute, Monday, different places.

Makes me wonder if a new fiscal year started or something.

They're still getting sued over the last camera program....

https://www.toledoblade.com/local/city/ ... 0200916137

But they're reimplementing it again next year, except this time with more cameras.

https://www.13abc.com/2020/11/10/red-li ... to-toledo/

Not sure how they're getting around the state ban. Making it possible to contest the tickets this time, maybe,

I am so.torn. on the one hand, I hate computer cameras handing out fines. On the other, I hate that toledo streets are becoming Mad Max 5.

Got to start pulling licenses, And got to enforce the driving ban. Toledo wont. Cameras only collect revenue, sometimes. Old system was.pretty much voluntary.

Sheeit, 4 Toledo city council members were arrested for bribery and extortion, in June. Welcome to the party, Cincy.
