Here's how I argued this to my woke girlfriend the other day.

Imagine you're a guy. You've never approach women in public, but one day you see a beautiful one, and she's carrying your favorite novel under her arm. You decide that fate is in play here, and you walk up to her. "Hello," it takes all of your courage to say.

SHe stops, looks at you, and furrows her brow. "OH MY GOD I AM SO SICK OF MEN HITTING ON ME. I CAN'T GO 10 FEET WITHOUT ANOTHER ONE OF YOU TRYING TO GET IN MY PANTS."

She may truly be sick and tired of men hitting on her, but this guy, quiet, reserved, with a common interest, just approached a stranger in public for the first time in his adult life and politely said hello. And he just got both barrels for it. And he's never going to do it again. And that woman, someday, is going to publicly and unironically lament that she can't find a good man.

And that's why the current "unwanted sexual attention" movement will ultimately be bad for society.

And my woke girlfriend couldn't find an argument against that.

It's fine if you're walking by someone IRL... the problem is that on twitter you're walking by EVERYONE. And especially those particular people.

You say it's fine, but there's a lot of vocal people out there, with twitter,, who say it isn't fine. Then they show you the video of the woman walking through NYC getting approached 10 times every 50 feet.

Maybe the lesson isn't to get angry at men casting a wide net, but to live away from men who are pigs. And maybe that means staying off social media, where they hunt.
