Absolutely true. I think it's bigoted to pretend everyone fits in one mold.

That being said, I hope they give us the proper percentages and not some ridiculous overwhelming majority. For example: A 2017 Gallup survey had 4.5% of adult Americans identifying as LGBT. So Marvel shouldn't make 20% of its characters LGBT. That would be dishonest and pushing a different type of agenda. That could backfire. Ask Kathleen Kennedy about that.

I agree, but I think that ~4.5% is important for people to see. Mostly for those who are in that group to see themselves, but also for others, if it helps humanize them and increase exposure.

Maybe it would reduce the instance of people like this?

This guy is a complete asshat. I have the same contempt for the people who try to end careers of folks with differing opinions or who might have said something years ago that is now considered politically incorrect. They too scream the "die already" chants and whatnot.

Whatever happened to discussing things and compromise?

In related news, Chris Evans mocks people organizing a "straight pride" parade.

I'm a bit torn. His message kind of sucks because it's simple mocking and doesn't really explain "why". The why being that straight people didn't have to fight for their rights or to be acknowledged. So he's correct.

However, take away the obvious assumption that this is a counter to gay pride parades and if someone wants to hold a parade to celebrate being straight, why is that bad?

Well, the obvious assumption is correct. The stuff the group released is basically like they took a flyer from a gay rights organization, and just changed it to "Straight." So on the surface, there's no issue here, per se, but it's obviously just a stunt.

I think the better thing is just to ignore the trolls.
