Appropriately enough, he was in World War Z ... as a WHO doctor.

I've never heard of him, but a couple of people who's opinions I generally trust have and approve of the choice. So I'm tentatively pleased.
...
Yes, thank you auto correct, I also trust their onions, but that is beside the point.

Awesome.
I thought for a moment that they had left out 8, but they squeezed him in after all.

For a couple years now my kid and I have been fans of the Doctor, and when he would ask who the next Doctor would be I would always tell him, "I am."
He'll love this.

Interesting.
It's not that the show was cancelled for 20 years, it's that those episodes about the War Doctor were classified and couldn't be shown to the public.

I like that perspective.
This is the Doctor week on BBCA, building up to the 50th this weekend. I have had a marathon on all day, in lieu of having internet. All the excitement for it makes me happy.

When 8 appeared by surprise in that internet video, I started thinking maybe they would all be in the 50th.

I'm sure every one will make an appearance. Even the dead ones.

DOCTOR WHO COUNTDOWN.
On BBC America all day today. Season 7 marathon tomorrow, leading up to the preshow leading into the 50th. The 50th anniversary episode airs at something like 2:30 pm... it will be simultaneous with the English broadcast, and will be commercial free. I believe they said it will air again 7pm, or thereabouts.
The docu-drama "An Adventure in Time and Space," about the origins of the franchise, is getting amazing reviews, with many people saying they were brought to tears.
The excitement of the next 24 hours will probably never happen again, if you are a Doctor Who fan. I hope I, and the franchise, live to see the 100th anniversary.

I found An Adventure in Time and Space... interesting. I knew NOTHING about the history of the show at BBC, and that gave me some insight. It was sad watching the 1st Doctor grow old and unable to keep up. Glad he went out gracefully.

BBCA is broadcasting live and in 20 minutes is the largest global simulcast in history.
