I don't know. I bet the numbers would be split, more than white people numbers would be. Lots of soul brothers like to pretend they remember living in slavery and are still offended and wounded 8 generations later and 4 generations after the Civil Rights Act, but they are just looking for an edge. And many claim to want to return to the motherland, but those who knows do the side-eye meme at the idea.

As would I. It'd be pretty fascinating to look at a lot of different realities:
-Women's suffrage never happens.
-US never gets involved in WWII.
-The slave trade to the new world never happens.
-The new world is never conquered or interacted with. (Do we really get space Indians? )
-Cold War becomes real war.
-ETC.

This is why we need Rick's portal gun. We could go explore all of these realities.

It has been argued that the European takeover of many of those countries, followed by the exploitation of resources and displacement of their own leadership, then complete pullout without turnover assistance or reparation, fucked them over hard. Without 24 hour news, the world neither knew nor cared.

Sure, that's an argument. Another argument is that despite fucking them over, Euros also introduced Africa to a fuckton of technology they didn't have and probably would never have developed.

Add another reality to visit. One where Euros never visit Africa.

Ehhhhhhhh back then the europeans left MAYBE some railroad tracks, and some plumbing in the nice part of town. They left no one who knew how to maintain any of it, a functioning government, or any money with which to hire people who knew anything about anything.

Like I said, that's an argument. It has absolutely no evidence behind it, but it's still an argument.

It's like the art exhibit, that was posted here recently, showing how Native Americans would have thrived without Europeans. All evidence proves otherwise, but sure, a space age utopia would have clearly developed by now.

Africa was MAYBE generations away from technology the Euros introduced. It's also possible they never would have developed it. Introducing them to it only "fucked them over" because the Euros didn't handhold them into using it. They still were gifted infrastructure and exposure to technology and concepts they weren't even dreaming of.

I don't think it's a very strong argument.

I think there's no comparison to a stone age culture that encountered the high technology of 500 years ago, and what happened in Africa last century.

I've honestly never heard any controversy about this. History books pretty much all agree the European powers exploited and fucked over africa.

Sure, they fucked over the continent by taking its resources and continue to do so to this day. However, the people are a different story. There is no evidence anywhere to suggest Africans, outside of Egypt, were developing anything remotely close to what Europeans had developed hundreds of years prior. Ancient Romans had plumbing. A lot of Africa still doesn't.

This isn't saying, "Black people can't..." or anything like that. (Black people aren't just from Africa you racist.) Just that this particular group of people in this part of the world weren't developing. They were stagnant.

Same could be, and is, said of the Native Americans.

For some reason, Euros and Asians (some parts) were far more inclined to develop new technologies and advance.

So... Yes, European colonialism/imperialism was bad for Africa, especially areas like the Congo with Leopold. No argument. But did it keep them from being Wakanda? No way. They were far behind to begin with.
