Arrived. Installing.

PROBABLY no time to really play for another week, though.

Downloading now.

Who's playing what class? Are we going to have a strategy (team comp) or just wing it?

I played the Siren through the first game. By the end was pretty good with the Phase walk and SMG.

I began playing the sniper and could go that route again or the turret guy.

Where can one read and learn about the classes?

I also enjoyed sniping a lot, too. That was my highest skill weapon class at the end.

No reason we can't all be good snipers. We can all plink peeps before we rush in.

Unlike the first one, weapon types are not tied to particular classes. From what I can tell about classes and play styles...

Axton: support role. Lives and dies by the turret. All his skill trees focus on specializing the turret for one or more strategies. Anyone who's been Roland from BL1 has a proper idea. Axton is shitty front-liner and in between turret cooldowns is fucking useless.

Salvador: tank, front-liner. Just needs to keep firing and has skill trees to maximize ammo, minimize reload time, and absorb pain. The more lead he's slinging, the better. Minimizing cooldown for him is important.

Maya: rather versatile. Can go crowd control, elemental, or healer.

Zer0: stealth up close and personal or long range sniping. Not good at killing enemies en masse, but useful if you've got a specific target, like a boss, or you just want to pick off critters one by one. Unlike Lilith from BL1, he is vulnerable during stealth.

Gaige: I think she might be the most destructive character after Salvador. Has two normal skills tree (Deathtrap, elemental) and one weird-ass one which allows you to redistribute some gun attributes using early reload as a switch.

Does everyone have to have the DLC for someone in your party to play the 5th character.

I don't know. I know I got an extra skin or something since I had a BL1 saved game on my system. But it was really dumb looking so I didn't pick it when I built my Siren.

I will play the Siren.

I see nothing that explicitly says everyone needs it.

Got the Season Pass today. DLC with new levels and such drops tomorrow. Season pass is $30 for that DLC plus three to-be-released ones. Otherwise, I bet they're $10-20 each when not on special and bought individually.

There was a compatability patch that came along with the mechromancer download that allowed those without her to be able to co-op with someone else that did.

I'm ready when everyone else is.

Are we going to discuss team composition or just kill stuff as whatever character we want? I still have no idea which class I want to play.

I'm ready whenever. I'd prefer as full a spread of classes as possible so as to abuse the widest range of class add-ons, abilities, skills, etc. as possible.

That's what I was thinking too. But then, I've been accused of having dumb gaming 'rules' and didn't know if everyone would be like "dude. It's borderlands. Just kill shit."

So, since I have no idea, or preference, I'll wait to see what others are picking and fill in where needed, I think.

I have agreed with this since the beginning. And as I said earlier, I'll play Zero or the turret guy. My pick will be based on if someone else wants one of those characters. If so, I'll take the other one.

Although, if I'm being honest, since I started the game with Zero, and will probably continue that game at some point, I think I'd like to be the turret guy...

How did you not become a politician? You're so full of shit. You know that your dumb gaming rules apply only to not playing with people who have played the game before you.

As for availability, I can't play Monday nights, but I'm ready to play whenever too. I figure nights Malcolm isn't available to go through BL2, we can head back into LoL.

G: Maya
Leish: Axton
I'll take Zer0 unless Cake really wants it. Which would leave him with Salvador.

EDIT: Although, I'm seriously considering Gaige.
