I see videos daily of horrible teachers who brag about hiding things from parents or who make their sexuality the focus of their classrooms, but I rarely see a teacher actually teaching. The content doesn't even matter. The fact that he's teaching critical thinking is what makes this great.

"Woke Kindergarten" wants the U.S. and Israel destroyed.

Some of their other views:
"Woke Kindergarten" is described on its website as "supporting children, families, educators and organizations in their commitment to abolitionist early education and pro-black and queer and trans liberation."
The "Woke Kindergarten" leader also called for schools to be abolished.
So, of course, this is who some school board idiots hire to improve test scores... How'd it go?
Glassbrook Elementary in Hayward, California, spent $250,000 in federal funds provided by a program meant to help boost test scores for some of the country’s lowest-performing schools, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. But after two years with "Woke Kindergarten," students’ scores are reportedly worse.
Less than 12% of the students can read at their grade level and under 4% are proficient in math, a 4% drop in both subjects in the last two years, according to the Chronicle.
Maybe don't hire an organization that is clearly all about hate and whose leader has no grasp of actual human history:
"I believe the United States has no right to exist. I believe every settler colony who has committed genocide against native peoples, against Indigenous people, has no right to exist," Gross said in a recent Instagram post. "Y'all the demons. Y'all are the villains. We've been trying to end y'all. Get free of y'all."
How is a group like this allowed in public schools? Was the KKK unavailable? Every person responsible for this happening should be removed from their jobs.

Our government is doing a great job.

Teacher certification scheme in Texas.

I HATE how this article starts off by portraying the fraudsters as the victims. The victims here are the students and the taxpayers, not people who purposely cheated to get jobs they were not qualified to get.
“It almost got me in tears, man,” said Williams, a 1967 graduate of Jack Yates Senior High School in the city’s predominantly Black Greater Third Ward neighborhood, told CNN Friday evening. “We are fighting hard to overcome, to show that we are more than qualified. … I’m just being straight up with you.”
If you cannot pass a teacher's certification exam, you are not qualified to teach. Sure, you might be able to do it, but the certification is important so WE know you can do it.

Everyone who profited from this scheme should be given max sentences. Fuck 'em. They, literally, sold out kids and their future.

The people who got their jobs fraudulently should be given creative sentences, like:
-Give them the choice of earning their teaching cert or going to jail.
-Ban them from public and private school jobs. Instead hire them to work for the state/local communities as educators/tutors for underprivileged kids, kids with special needs, etc. Dock their pay to offset the cost incurred to train them. Tack on long term community service, say a weekend a month, for 5 years or something in lieu of jail.

Robert “Boo Lee” Williams was still seething days after a popular basketball coach and two assistant principals at Houston’s first two historically Black high schools were arrested in an alleged teacher certification scheme.

Prosecutors say more than 200 people paid to have someone else take the state certification exam and now are scattered in classrooms across Texas. Local and state education officials are scrambling to track down the now-certified teachers who cheated.
Yeah, that opening is like "man, we were screwed by the man." then it's "oh, no they knew they cheated"

Article about New Zealand banning phones in school and the results.

Long story short: If students are still able to get on their phones, your ban is ineffective, and thus, no you won't see drastic results.

A ban isn't necessary. What is necessary is disabling phones on school grounds. That's the only way to make this work.

Government app, mandatory on all under-18 phone users (SCOTUS already determined minors don't have rights on school grounds). Disables phones while on school property, except for the number of a parent, or 911. If app is meddled with it will brick the phone. If the Steam-level anti-piracy software detects an exploit, it bricks the phone.

Wink.

Two billion dollar ideas in one thread. Bet.

So, put your money where your mouth is and DM Elon.

I think there's genuinely a >0% chance that he reads it and runs with the idea.

Or skip him, figure out the details, and then try to get a seat with companies who could capitalize on your idea and sell it to them.

First, some students felt stressed and anxious when they couldn’t contact their parents or caregivers during the day.
Yeah, suck it up, babies. JFC.

Mega Millions is moving to $5 tickets.

I'm sure this will be a huge boon for all the schools that get funded by the lottery... (We need a sarcasm tag)

I thought I was getting scammed by lotto.com.

I opened an account and set up a recurring buy, and then 2 days later got an email the price was goign 2 ---> 5. I was certain lotto.com was trying to bullshit me.

They don't pay out on anythig less than 10.

$40-45 per month I think is more than I wanted to play with.
