I don't know why you can't sign a petition saying your future boss is a racist nazi or whatever, and then have the guy decide he doesn't want to pay you any more. It just doesn't make any sense at all. Fucking elon.

I have little/no doubt that if Musk wanted to id someone using twitter, he just would do it. Like maybe that private flight tracking guy. I 0% trust Elon to not abuse his access.

Since Elon announced the $8/month blue check plan, the #1 people complaining about it have been celebrities and politicians (almost all being on the left because "Elon = Hitler"), all of whom can afford it, and all of whom have blue checkmarks.
Their anti-capitalist stance and 180 change of opinion regarding how a private entity can censor free speech aside...I really wish I had a time machine and could change scenarios then show people how the reactions change. Had Twitters previous owners enacted this $8 blue check plan the same people bashing it now would be defending it and vice versa. Especially if it had been done as a way to try and prevent Elon from buying Twitter.
