Very nice. It was a huge mistake not including that - or something like it - in the episode. Not so much for Brian as to hammer home the fact that Amy and Rory had a very full and happy life. They weren't just abandoned in time due to circumstance.

Many people are upset because they didn't make that point clear enough with the abrupt ending they decided on. Me, I think it's the best possible ending a companion to the Doctor can get - and brilliantly done as well - but that's because think with my brain unlike many people.

Retconning is a long-standing Doctor Who tradition.

Besides, it would be 13, so there's still two left anyway. Although he supposedly used up all his juice to save River IIRC.

Anyway, as to who the next Doctor is, I presume it's John Hurt? I think that would be a fine choice. Although I will miss Matt Smith.
