Rewatching season 2 for the first time, so for the first time I can watch it with foreknowledge.

Season 2 episode 2:

Red Lady whispers to Onion Knight's son that, "To burn in fire is the purest death." If I recall correctly, he will burn to death at the end of the season in Blackwater Bay. So she knew that was coming.

The actor playing Tywin really impresses me on a manly level. In season 1 he addresses his advisers while skinning a deer. He completely skins it while we watch and listen. Here he is pulling fish out of the harbor, like he knows what he's doing.

My season 1 blurays didn't have deleted scenes. Hrm.

Tywin (Charles Dance) has some awesome scenes where he gives life lessons and scoldings while doing cool things with his hands. Deer skinning, letter writing, and now fishing. He's awesome.

It's interesting, a couple of storylines are still in the last half of book three, most others are off into book four (which I haven't read yet), and one seems to be diverging from the books altogether (or at least they are doing some major things out of order, and some book four stuff is happening before related major book three stuff in the same storyline).

In the middle of rewatching season 2. Theon just took Winterfell, and Roose Bolton is sending his bastard with some men to retake it. Roose seems pretty cool for a dude with a flayed man as a sigil.

Ok, now things make a little more sense as to who is torturing Theon in season 3.

And I hope his intentions are still honorable since he sent his man secretly to shadow John Snow, in order to find Bran and Rickon. I imagine the rewatch will help me get a better sense of that.

Christ, you can watch the trainwreck that is Theon Grayjoy losing his humanity one little bit at a time. And, he seems perfectly aware of what is happening.

It sucks his dad was a dick, but he should never have burned that letter. His approval wasn't worth it.

Here's a thing that was pointed out to me:

In season 1 Tywin skins a deer... and House Barathean, sigil stag, pretty much falls.

In this deleted scene Tywin is catching and killing fish.... and doesn't House Tully, sigil the leaping trout, get fucked at the Red Wedding?

And in season 4 Tywin reforged Ice and burns the scabbard: a wolf skin. He assfucks House Stark, sigil wolf, all through the series.

How bout that.

1. I think Cercei is playing Maergery, and plans on killing her, so she is gaining her confidence. She is still a monster.

2. Holy shit Lady Aeryn, you crazy fucking bitch.

3. Littlefinger has been pulling more strings than I thought. WIll have to replot my "State of Westeros"/motivation schema from above. I think killing Ned may have been his plan from the get-go.

4. I called the "Warg into Hodor" thing this last week, not sure if it was on here or talking to a buddy in meatspace.
