Jim Schwartz officially resigned.

At least they got to keep Andrew Berry, right?

Falcons to cut Cousins.

Odd choice. They hire Stefanski, won't commit to Penix as the starter, and now they're cutting Cousins who was absolutely back to form this year.

BTW, Penix is expected to be out 9-12 months with a torn ACL, and as we've been learning it seems to take another year after that before one gets back to normal.

I had that thought. I could see them doing it with their "we have a competitive team now" attitude. The problem is, they don't have a competitive team now.

I know I'm old and out of touch but, I mean. . . is this a good half time show?

I didn't really watch it. I was throwing the ball around with my dog and talking to one of my kids who had no interest. My wife watched it for about 2 minutes.

Yesterday some channel was interviewing players as they arrived and were asking them about Bad Bunny. A single one of them knew his music. All the rest said they had no idea what any of his songs were and didn't listen to him. I understand why they brought him in as they're trying to expand their international reach, but they need to go back to rock again next year. As the political parties teach us, don't abandon your base.

Belichick's GF takes a massive shot at Kraft.

Sam Darnold becomes the FIRST QB from the 2018 draft class to win the Super Bowl. This draft class included the likes of Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Rosen
After bouncing around so much, somehow, Sam Darnold is 37 years old in my head.

It was like the Weekend for me, where I also didn't know any songs, except I could also barely understand any words. I liked the beats though.

And anything's better than Maroon 5, Shania Twain, or Bruno Mars.

The electrical poles was weird to me. Puerto Rico has to own their own infrastructure, not blame the US when their corrupt world breaks.

Another 49er shot.

Between the shootings, the constant injuries possibly related to a nearby substation, and the insane taxes (Sam Darnold lost $71K winning the Super Bowl...), maybe move the team out of SF?

At the end of the day, I'm just thankful how few times country music has features at the halftime show. That would be unbearable

Fucking preach.

I want a rock halftime show. They should redo that Moscow show: AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera.

That would... rock. But too many big names, and Pantera isn't Pantera any more, though Anselmo is still singing.

I'm a Metallica fan, so this might be biased, but I think they're the obvious choice.

International appeal for an American band. They crossed into the mainstream, so even non-metal people know who they are and their songs. There's no chance they do anything controversial. I think they'd be able to pull in appropriate guest stars too, which seems to be the thing to do during these performances.

I wonder if they would do it. The latest acts have definitely been on the younger/trendier side, i think.

Bad Bunny was a very calculated pick as they wanted international attention, and based on international ratings during halftime, they got it.

Domestically, the halftime numbers dipped significantly as 5M people tuned into Turning Point's alternative show. Not a new thing as Animal Planet, Victoria's Secret (I think...), and other brands and channels have tried to offer alternatives over the years. However, I think this might have been the most successful one?

Honestly, the Bad Bunny controversy both made sense and didn't. Dumb people apparently forgot Puerto Rico IS the U.S. and criticized the NFL for picking a "foreign act". However, why the fuck does he only sing in Spanish? Also, he really doesn't do much in the U.S., which was on display when only a single player in the game said they listened to him. Most hadn't even heard of him.

Representation is weird. Like, if you want to appeal to most of the NFL fans: pop/rock/country/rap. But is there an argument that if a) 10% of your fans are Hispanic, or b) 50% of your new fan growth is Hispanic; You should cater to them X% of the time?

I dunno.
