Heh. Last time I tried it, my pirated version of Office 2000 still installed off the CD, and didn't phone home to check the serial number.

Android founder Miner takes a shot at Gates and Gates' take on Android.

Another noteworthy tidbit in that article leads to the current MS CEO admitting pulling the plug on the Windows phone was a mistake.

Duh.

It's never too late to win the market though, you just have to innovate. Not hardware innovation, which is easily copied, but innovate the experience.

You already dominate business and personal computers, not to mention servers. So figure out the weaknesses of the two biggest phone brands, iPhone and Droid, and fix their issues while also providing what should be a super seamless experience from phone to PC to server to gaming console to whatever else.

The best response on that tweet:
Cool! Now fix Outlook search
It really is kind of amazing that these companies make such huge advances, yet cannot get some of their most common and basic functions working correctly.

Honestly, it's also a pretty large red flag that they're going to take us screaming into some technologically created apocalypse. :D

So has anyone besides me managed to never need a Microsoft account? I know lots of you idiots have moved to Office 360 (or whatever that is called) because letting them keep your data is a hell of a lot easier than keeping your data private.

I made a Microsoft ccount years ago when they decided they would prefer you sign in over the internet in order to use Windows, but I generally have kept that off and remained a Windows "Local User."

I was annoyed a decade ago when my kid wanted to play Minecraft on the PC, and it required a Microsoft account to play the dumb simple offline game (But I was there when we gamers were first resisting the idea of requiring an internet connection for single player games, so I had PTSD and an opinion about it).

But to this day, I still only need a Microsoft account because he still occasionally fires up Minecraft, and to our knowledge there is no way to transfer his Minecraft account to his own name (he was a yute when he started playing and yutes couldn't make accounts).

And then a minute ago I get an email that my Microsoft account is under attack from around the world and China managed to brute force my password, which made me jump through hoops to secure it so they ca'nt have access to my kid's Minecraft account.

Jesus fuck I hate how stupid everything has gotten. Remember 1997? That was awesome.

Yeah.

Login. Get text, enter code. Go to next page, asks for MFA, enter MFA, next page, asks for Password.

Can I just give you some blood instead?

I remember when "and a special character" became required for your password resets.

Coming soon. Not really joking.

On the bright side, AI will kill us all soon anyway.

On an episode of Doctor Who once the TARDIS password was a 7-stage of "crimson, delight, your happiest memory, the smell of petrichor," etc. You had to think of those things, to get past the door.

We should do that. Those little chinese hacker brains wouldn't be able to comprehend complex thoughts and emotions.

Passwords are on their way out already.

Quantum computing is coming and people forget passwords constantly, so the industry has been moving away from them for a few years now. Access will be more bio and physical based, along with MFA.

Is there anything in the tech world worse than the search function in Outlook?

First of all, Catt's right about your reading comprehension. I specifically said, "in the tech world".

Secondly, do you want your gangbang filmed or not? You hired me to film. I need a fucking invite to get in! This isn't rocket science!

All of my examples happen even more often to tech people because they are extra sensitive, and they get noticed more. IT people feel things harder than regular people.

Which is why I got out.

And why Leisher loves Gay Bangfest 2025. Because he feels it harder.
