This is also about the new Wolverine movie, which really looks like it's going to be Old Man Logan (but without the Marvel characters, so bummer...).
Fucking Ryan Reynolds IS Deadpool.

Taking it one step further, The Wrap reports that one of the key disagreements was over the casting of Cable. Miller reportedly wanted to cast Friday Night Lights alum Kyle Chandler in the role, but Reynolds balked - with the studio siding with the actor/producer.
I'm forced to agree with Berg.
Additionally, Miller was pushing for the sequel to have a more "stylized" feel while Reynolds wanted to adhere to the "raunchy comedy style" of the original according to The Wrap.

Keeping it cheap is the way to go. You have to be more creative. CGI and big budgets make people lazy.

Cable casting idea: Henry Rollins. I think he'd be just offbeat enough.

I really want it to be someone who can play it very serious. That's the fun of Deadpool and Cable.
I've been watching this movie a ton lately as it's free on HBO right now. It hasn't gotten old yet. Still hilarious and still has a solid love story.

I think he could. His deadpan "I'm going to fucking kill you" expression is solid. 10-15 years ago, I'd have gone Ron Perlman all day.

I saw that Leslie Jones wants to be in it. I'm fine with that, but they need to find the perfect character and it's got to make sense. I don't just want some bullshit role invented or shoehorned in so they can get another name into the film. Off the top of my head, I have no idea who she could play. Deadpool's universe is kind of small. He really plays with other people's toys, mainly Wolverine.

I'm in total agreement with him. The original movie was tight. Perfect plot. Perfect number of actors. No wasted scenes. I'm glad he wants to take that same thinking into the sequel.

The more they flirt publicly, the better the odds of Deadpool/Wolverine.
