That might be my new all time favorite study.

I thought he was talking about the USA. He does represent rural MO.
How did two 12 year-olds legally marry though? Even with parental permission? Were they Amish? What kind of terrible parents force their 12 year old to get married?

Most states had (have?) exceptions for parental and/or judicial approval. I vaguely remember NC used to allow 14 year olds?
Missouri in 2018 passed a law setting the state’s minimum marriage age at 16, with the approval of one parent or guardian. The law’s passage came after The Star revealed that Missouri had the nation’s most lenient marriage law for 15-year-olds. It previously allowed children even younger to marry with a judge’s approval.

Yeah, here's NC's
current law
Minors ages 14 and 15 must file a court action if they wish to marry. This option is available only in cases of pregnancy or teenage parenthood. A guardian ad litem must be appointed to give an opinion on whether the marriage is in the best interest of the 14- or 15-year-old, and the court must also consider the opinions of his or her parents. The judge must decide if the minor is ready for the responsibilities of marriage. You can find a copy of the complaint form needed to file the case here.
Children under the age of 14 may not marry.

I'm betting such exemptions are for religious or financial reasons (tying two families together).
I'm not a fan.

I think the last time I was in a strip club, you were there.
Not dancing thank god.
You know, I am so thrilled I'm not in your particular nighttime event social circle because based on all your constant flirting you'd be staring at me the whole time.
Speaking of strip clubs, I have been driving by the old...shit I've forgotten the name...it was recently reopened as Agora or something like that and seemed to featured black girls. Very odd for a strip club in the middle of nowhere in Michigan. I genuinely don't know if a black dude lives within 15 minutes of the place. It's already out of business.
Anyway, I'm driving by a lot because of stuff my kids have going on in the next city. Recently after passing it, I was reminiscing about the time I met Ginger Lynn there still at the height of her powers. I've got that photo somewhere. I think in storage.
No point to that story except naked women are awesome.

I don't understand at all how people can pretend to not be retarded long enough to get elected.
Too many people just vote the letter.

Honestly, most people will learn more in 2 weeks of working than a year of high school.
And I'm 100% fine with the serving alcohol thing, that's always been dumb.

Are we supposed to be mad about this? Because I think I'm fine with it all. Mainly because this isn't forced labor. It just gives kids options.
Plus, you are right. Kids will learn a hell of a lot more in the actual real world rather than the fake world that is school.
For example, I have two 14 year olds and they want to start working this summer, but their options are limited here.
I'm guessing the assembly line thing has something to do with farming?
16 and 17 year olds serving booze I'm ok with, as long as all the other laws about their employment are followed and they are not put in bad situations.
Like can they grab a customer a beer at the Applebee's bar? Sure. However, do I want them closing the local dive bar on their own? No.

Yeah, I was thinking "normal restaurant that serves drinks" not "Bar"

Wait, wtf are they doing in TN?
Different TN GOP leader sexually harassed interns.
A member of GOP leadership in the Tennessee House of Representatives was recently found guilty of sexually harassing at least one legislative intern, likely two, by an ethics subcommittee acting in secret, NewsChannel 5 Investigates has learned.
About six hours after being confronted by NewsChannel 5 Investigates, Rep. Scotty Campbell gave up his seat in the Tennessee General Assembly
...
Despite accusations of sometimes extremely vulgar comments and other inappropriate advances, Republicans did not remove the 39-year-old East Tennessee lawmaker from his leadership position nor from his committee assignments.
But taxpayers are paying for his actions.
NewsChannel 5 has learned that potentially thousands of dollars have been spent to protect one victim, relocating her from the downtown apartment building where she and Campbell both had apartments, shipping her furniture back home in another part of the state and placing her in a downtown hotel for the remainder of her internship.
Legislative officials refused to say how much they've paid out, saying that information is confidential.
Confronted with the allegations Thursday as he headed to Capitol Hill, Campbell referenced a second intern who was also involved in the investigation. NewsChannel 5 was previously unaware of that individual's complaint.

Thank goodness Democrats NEVER do this exact same thing!!! Don't drink the Kool-Aid Catt!!!
Hey, how's the investigation into AOC's ethics going? The one that is happening, but never gets reported on?
Do we care that Pelosi led the fight against ending insider trading for Congresspeople?
Do we care that the mere existence of lobbyists means our elected officials from both parties are bought and paid for?
Apparently, it only matters when they're on the other team?
(I might be trolling a bit...)

The Democrats have 1 example of a SCOTUS with questionable financial ties, and that person resigned. So yeah, Democrats 1, Republicans 0.

In that one area. Congratulations. Let's throw them a fucking parade while we completely ignore Hunter Biden and his laptop exist.
FYI, it was also a far different time. For example, in the late 80s Gary Hart dropped out because we found out he was having an affair. A decade later a Dem president was fucking an intern with a cigar while a world leader waited in another room, lied about, and then just apologized.
So yeah...
