Ditto.

Ditto again. However, if we're setting "rules" for such things, then they need to be treated and reported upon in the same way.

For what it's worth, I have heard it was because the two black guys were using a megaphone to shut down the active session, while the white woman did not do so. From what I understand this was all covered during the session when they voted.

Expel a crazy from the Arizona House
State Rep. Liz Harris was expelled Wednesday from the Arizona House of Representatives for ethics violations resulting from inviting a conspiracy theorist to publicly testify before lawmakers earlier this year.

The resolution to expel the first-term Republican, elected in November, stated that she had brought “disrepute and embarrassment to the House of Representatives,” resulting in “disorderly behavior.” Forty-six Arizona representatives in the GOP-controlled House voted to remove her from her elected position, meeting a two-thirds threshold to expel lawmakers. Thirteen members opposed her expulsion.

CNN reached out to Harris at her legislative office and personal number. She has not responded to CNN’s request for comment.

Arizona Rep. Lupe Diaz, a fellow Republican, voted to expel Harris, saying on the House floor, “We need to have integrity in the institution, and I do not take this vote lightly. I do vote yes.”

Rep. Alex Kolodin, also a Republican, defended Harris ahead of the vote. “They [the public] will perceive that they don’t have a true voice in this body because when they elect somebody to rock the boat, and she does it … admittedly in the wrong way … a way that should have been better considered, that that member will be expelled. So, in order to protect this body, to preserve public trust and confidence in us and more importantly in the legislature as a means for being the peoples voice, and bringing about real change, I do sadly but resolutely vote no.”

When the resolution was passed, a voice off camera could be heard yelling, “Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame!”

The Arizona Legislature live stream then cut off.

In February, Harris had invited Jacqueline Breger to present findings of what Breger and Harris claimed were an investigation. Breger spewed a number of lies and attacks against public officials, including Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs. One of those lies spread on social media and resulted in Hobbs responding with a joke before cameras saying, “No, I am not involved with the Sinaloa cartel. I’m not taking bribes from them and I’m not laundering their money.”

Harris is a well-known conspiracy theorist and election denier in Arizona. She was a constant figure during the GOP-led review of Maricopa County’s 2020 ballots. Election experts condemned the review calling it an attempt to overturn the state’s election results.
Nice to see them do the right thing for once.

It is a miracle. Now hopefully the Ds follow suit and do something right too.
This is propaganda 101. Not saying what the guy did wasn't wrong. It was because he had authority over the girl and he needs to be disciplined. However, they are both adults. A fact that Vice tries to make fuzzy by not saying her age, just "under 21". The false equivalency of trying to compare it to adults wanting to be dress in little to nothing and dance in a sexual manner in front of actual children is utter horseshit.

Under 21 is not an adult. 21 is an adult. 18-20 is grey.

Apparently, we not only let children vote, but we send them off to war, let them use tobacco products, and you're legally allowed to fuck them.

Nope, but they are allowed into strip joints, sex clubs, sex stores, and can get fucked by anyone 18 and over. When someone reaches this age, it's no longer grooming because it's no longer pedophilia.

It is a misdemeanor and an ethics violation.

However, trying to compare it to actual grooming is the article's author reaching for a link that doesn't exist, or worse, trying to justify the behavior at those strip shows.

Is juice bar something more than just a place they serve juice? Last night after you posted this I heard a bit from a podcast where the host mentioned something about a juice bar in a very adult manner.

Juice bar = no alcohol served. So a strip club with no alcohol (juice bar) in NC, can have full nudity. If they serve alcohol, bottoms have to stay on.

I mean, do you have pictures to prove such a thing exists? :D

It's been so many years since I've been to a strip club I don't remember the rules. Not sure if my local town does any nude anymore? I thought maybe they moved to pasties? Notable because it's been completely D controlled since the late 80s, yet still has very Puritan leanings.

I remember topless, but the girls all wore thongs. I think there was a place with full nude, but I'm not 100% certain. Don't remember the alcohol rules.

I just learned the rules when I turned 21 and could finally go to a club. They were explained to me by someone who... went a lot back in the day.

I think the last time I was in a strip club, you were there.

Not dancing thank god.

MO Rep: Of course 12 year olds should be able to marry, and opposed raising MO's legal age of marriage to 16 from 15.

Uh Senator, it's 2023, not the dark ages. I'm not saying you're a pedo, but it sure does seem like you're trying to reach for a justification to keep your options open.

The reason I don't call him a pedo with absolute certainty is because of this:
The Senator did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the News-Leader, but defended his comments on Twitter and noted the couple he referenced was not an adult and child but two children who married after becoming pregnant.
Your anecdote is fine, but a super extreme example. It is also still devoid of very important details, like how these two 12 year olds even thought of having sex, if their parents demanded marriage, what country this happened in, what culture is involved here, religion?, and so on.

I know for a fact someone once went skydiving and their chute never opened. They hit the ground full speed and survived. That doesn't mean I advocate for people to go skydiving without parachutes.

I saw a study once where every single person who leapt from the plane survived, even without parachutes. :)

I thought he was talking about the USA. He does represent rural MO.
