Most everywhere does that, and it's state law, not city.
Really? That's interesting. I swear ESPN or someone did a story on Philly specifically.
What an impossible nightmare it would be to tax every person who travels to a city to do work. How do you have know they're there?
You know, until the government chips us all.

Unchecked capitalism might be better than what NYC has with 2.5 years to get any building approved.
Unchecked bureaucracy isn't good either.

Yeah, learned about it when my wife was getting her CPA.
After the confetti settled on Jordan’s NBA championship debut and the Bulls’ famous dethroning of the LA Lakers, the State of California informed Jordan that he would owe state taxes for the days he spent in Los Angeles. In direct response to the California policy, the State of Illinois announced that it would levy a jock tax on athletes from any state that imposed the tax on their athletes. Today, almost every state and many large municipalities (including Kansas City, Pittsburg and Detroit) that host professional sports teams has enacted a jock tax policy

Well, for athletes, it's easy. But for the rest of us, yeah, much harder.

Also easy for burglars to know when they're not home.
Although, I think that ring has been arrested?

Initially, I thought it had to be AI, but he did it twice?

Very old man wants to pause all data center construction "until democracy can catch up".
How very progressive of him.

Yes. You don't live somewhere where they are trying to cram them. Michigan government decided to give tax breaks to tech companies, so they are trying to cram them everywhere here.
There is a TON of evidence showing how bad they are for communities. But we don't care because other people are getting rich? The people installing them are profiting off the misery of others and ya, we shouldn't support that.
The problem is we cannot stop because China could get there first and nobody wants that.

I guess the MI one is in danger as Oracle's #1 financer has passed on paying for it.
