Interesting... I finished 4-6 and was placed at 45. All of my placement matches were played solo que.

Ditto, me. We got up to 47 yesterday. But took a few L's after that.

Blizzard is suing cheat makers.

Where's the internet morality police to attack these types of scumbags? Oh that's right, they're probably clients.

I'm not sure if I've run into any cheaters but I do know something that Blizzard needs to address.. PUSSY ASS AFKers!!! They leave just 3 minutes into the first match leaving a team 5v6 then a minute later its 1v6. I swear if someone isn't winning right away they quit, this is a real problem with solo que and it happens quite a bit in comp play.

There's a 15 minute penalty and an experience hit for the first leaver. But it needs to be bigger. Make the experience hit twice what would have been lost had they actually played it out and make the time penalty progressively longer with each leave. Something like that.

I'm curious as to what the exact grounds of the lawsuit are.
The software allegedly violates copyright law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act's anti-circumvention measures. More importantly, Blizzard claims that Watchover hurts both legitimate players and the bottom line.
Well, hurting players and the bottom line is not in itself a violation of anything. Unless he's copied code or images I can't see how it could be a violation of copyright law. And as to the DMCA anti-circumvention measures, as long as the software is only working with data packets as they enter and leave the game client then I don't think that applies as long as the person owning the hardware it is running on has agreed to run it, which they clearly have if they are using it as a cheating tool.

I'm not saying I want cheaters to prosper or that the cheaters and the cheat makers aren't scum. But I don't think the law as written works that way. But I'd need to read the actual filing to be sure and I can find it yet.

So Cake and I were discussing this game over the weekend and how Stranger was strong arming people into playing. Bastard.

I also ordered the game based upon what you folks were spewing and what did I discover? It's Team Fortress 2. (I swear I've heard that comparison somewhere...)

Cake told me to say this: "Buyer's Remorse!"

Anyway, let's organize some games or I'm writing Blizzard for a refund. Based on this thread 5 of us own it.

Add me on Battlenet - TaZ#1974. I'm getting off work early today and would love to to some Overwatching with bros. I just don't get home normally on the weekdays until 9-10 or later ya'lls time. I end up having to play with randos - sometimes bad sometimes good. I'm down to a 40 rank on competitive.

Hah! yeah, I did kinda strong arm him.. I told him if he didn't like it then I'd refund half his purchase with steam credits in 6 months.. Which is right about Christmas time, so I could just pass it off as a Christmas present! :D

The game is so much more fun with a group. MadMordigan#1329 is my Blizzard ID. i'll be on tonight!

I tried her. She's pretty solid - the sleep ability is quite nice. A very solid stun-time if they aren't hit. DOT is effective, too.

Her main weapon just doesn't pack much punch, healing or damage. Characters that are known for going after mercy will eat her for breakfast too.

I'm pretty much not gaming until next week. (Golf tonight, single parent home for the next day, then off to Florida for a destination wedding.)

However, when I return Sunday night, I'll friend you guys and we can give this game a run through next week.

I'll let Cake know.

Get scuba certified real quick. I know some great dive spots down there.

Are you allowed to scuba while drunk?

I Have no time to do shit. Arrive Friday, head to rehearsal dinner, go to wedding and reception Saturday, fly out Sunday.

I am looking forward to "no kids around" sleep and sex, but I'll be happy when this weekend is over.

Leisher, what's your Battle.net tag name and number? Did you play anymore since you got back?

Honestly, I don't know. Leisher was taken I'll have to log in tonight and check. I haven't played yet as I just got back last night. Not sure if I'll be around tonight as I'm exhausted and tomorrow I might be on, but later as I'm having dinner with a friend from out of town. Then Wednesday is golf. And I'm also unavailable Friday, and maybe Saturday, I haven't decided yet.

So...Thursday?
