Actually, I patched the game up and they must have removed the requirement because now it launches.

Can't log in to steam, here.
I've been doing freelance work waiting for a game.. didn't even realize steam was off. Can't login, either.

Oh, also, I didn't suicide. I was going to take out a few things of Troy's and fall back before my health bar turned yellow, and it was fine, then due to lag or something I was green.... green... green... sliver of red. Yay!
I watched you guys for a awhile, studying your bases and tactics, so I'd know how to kill you elegantly next game. It is going to be really funny. I saw you guys mentioning you were still laggy... I watched until about a minute after randy killed the AI. I saw you guys were nowhere near hitting each other, so I quit. Did lag get any better?

Maybe slightly. I would have liked the game pace to be a bit faster. I guess at that speed you can micro manage easier. But, I still like things to happen a bit faster. Catching your opponent off guard is fun. But at that speed, not much damage has time to happen before they notice what's going on.

I used a fuckload of Rocket Bots on that Map.
That's why Commanders were dying so fast, I would focus fire them. (I also strafed cakes with some fighter/bombers)

Troy and I allied against 2 adaptive. They beat us out of the center of the map, but we pretty easily beat them over all. He had it worse than I did as both AI's seemed to concentrate on him. I had some trouble with red, but they never really hurt much. That let me build up pretty well and I went down and took out red. Then we both went after yellow and won. If Adaptive isn't the cheating AI, I'd like to try it against the cheating AI. If it is, then I'd try going against 3 of them.

No, there is a whole nother level of A.I.
The problem is, the next level is obscene. They are smarter, cheat, and are everywhere. They are really fucking hard.

Played a couple skirmishes against AI last night.
Same map both times... some 20x20KM one. No water. 6 total players.
In both skirmishes I positioned myself on the opposite side of the map from the ALX, counting on my AI allies to quadruple team him and keep him harassed while I built up some unstoppable strike forces. Worked the first time, not the second.
5 on 1. Me and 4 Hard:Adaptive AI, all allied, vs. a single ALX:Adaptive AI. It took us a while, but we finally defeated him... and then only after he walked his commander too close to the front lines. Dumbass.
Second skirmish:
4 on 1. Me and 3 Hard: Adaptive AI, all allied, vs. a single ALX:Adaptive AI. The open spawn point was closest to me, not him. He won. It was an experimental rapid fire nuclear artillery piece that ultimately took me out, but by then he had wiped out all of my allies so I was already doomed.
Also, I saw one of the ways the ALX cheats. I was watching 3 of his level 3 siege tanks rolling up on a large mass of allied level 1 and 2 units. I watched one of his siege tanks health go yellow... and red... and almost dead... then it was back up to yellow again. Seems like if you don't kill them fast enough they regenerate and then you basically have to apply double (triple? More?) damage on the unit to kill it.

I'm actually kind of sad there isn't a step higher of AI after regular hard that isn't insane.
I can take an adaptive 1v1 easily. But try to make the step from that to ALX, who has double resource and build speeds, it's just not even close.

I am hosting a big map pack on dtman, for now. Snag it if you plan on multiing with us, or if you just want new maps to play. I have played a few of them and they worked fine.

edit - it is taking a while to upload. Should be done by 6:30pm eastern time.
