Because black folk think an MCU movie is going to get a big Oscar win.

The best take I've seen on this is that JLC has deserved an Oscar previously and Hollywood has failed to deliver. They finally do, but it comes at the expense of two other deserving people.

I have always been told that's how it works. A lot of the awards are "make up" awards. X should have gotten it for a movie a year or two ago, but they get it now even though they might not deserve it as much now.

That's one point against Bassett, the movie she was in was universally panned.

I think the Asian co-star of JLC's whose role was larger in the Asian movie has a stronger case for being snubbed than Bassett. Unfortunately for the MSM, there's no actual White-Asian hate to make money off of, so...

Maybe black people could have their awards show, just for them. Exactly as good as the Oscars, mind you. Just separate. But equal.

Rumors are the academy awards shows are talking about getting rid of male/female awards.

Also, if Kimmel is smart he should use this as an opportunity to use Shore in recurring skits. He needs something to offset the fact that he constantly comes off as an elitist douchebag.

I've always heard he was a genuinely nice person and wasn't the large entourage type. That succubus he married has destroyed him. First, I think his career started tanking when he got things going with her? Then the slap ruined him. We find out they haven't even been married for years, and this is after his wife publicly talked about fucking one of their son's friends. She made him do that terrible interview where they discussed their marriage together. She's said in an interview that maintaining a sexual relationship with him was "hard". Just gave another interview recently where she said he has a small dick. And now a former rep says he had a gay affair.
