Oh, I thought that was why you hit the food truck. Sounds like you're fine, though. Did they at least give you free lunch?

I can't tell if you are being serious or funny?

By "hit" I mean "hit up" or "went to "... not physically hit. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh! After all the reports related to Pokemon and people running into stuff, I thought you were self-reporting. That and I can't recall the last time I heard "hit" used that way about anything that wasn't a gym.

Beach? Food truck? Gym? Bar?

Just gym of those. All the other uses I hear are more about objects than locations: pool, pipe, hay (i.e. bed), dat ass.

Maybe it's a regional thing.

It might be regional. Folks around here still say "hit" for food joints, sex, actual collisions, running non-food errands, etc.

I use "hit" in many parts of speech. Typically, when I mean "atoms smacked into each other" I make it explicit.

So what I was trying to say:
I went on a 17 mile bike ride at lunch. On the way back to the office, I stopped at a food truck and got lunch. I then biked (slowly) the remaining 1/2 mile back to my office, and only got 0.1km of credit.

So the fake GPS thing is the big talk right now. The team behind Pokemon is handing out 1-5 hour bans and Pokemon will run away from you if you're "cheating".

Lots of folks praising the move.

Now the other shoe is dropping. Disabled folks are weighing in about how they want to play, but can't get around that easily. Folks who don't live in urban areas are complaining that there are entire regions (multiple towns) that don't have a Pokestop or gym.

I still think it's cheating. Part of the game is built around you travelling, and if you're spoofing that you're cheating.

That's just like my opinion, man.

Well, you're wrong and fuck you!!!!!

Seriously though, I think it's cheating too, but only to a point. I don't want to fake travel the world. I just want to extend the Pokestop next to my office another 50 yards so I can sit within it during the day. I'm not tying my phone to ceiling fans or record players to rack up mileage. I have discovered that I won't be cheating because it takes a jailbroken or rooted phone to download the fake GPS stuff. I'm not interested in any of that. I, literally, just want the free capture balls.

And just to be a shit, technically, you're a video game cheater. Using macros in Ultima Online was forbidden, yet we all did it. :D

Back to Pokemon Go, I think the game is going to spark copycats, as I stated previously, but even more intriguing will be the lawsuits. What lawsuits? Well, by forcing people to travel, designing the game to reward high population centers, and blocking any attempts at allowing any form of spoofing, they're effectively telling rural and handicapped players to go fuck themselves. Is that statement ridiculous? Yes. Do you really think some lawyer wouldn't try to class act this shit for a payday?

I've only ever used 3rd party apps that were legal on whatever server I was on. Great Lakes allowed uoassist. The others had 3rd party apps built into the install programs.

Sir, Great Lakes was an Origin run server, and Origin was on record as being against their usage. You could report people using them in game and they'd get banned. You were "cheating".

I don't see it as cheating because it still took the same amount of time, and you still had to do work to setup the macros, but it was cheating by Origin's standards.

Ever used a cheat code for any game ever?

How many LoL accounts do you have? Why would anyone need more than one?

I'm just busting your balls. I think cheating can be very black and white and a line I don't cross, like you. However, I also think there are grey areas of "cheating" where the developer says one thing, but their interest is about their purse strings and not the integrity of the game. Or grey areas where people achieve the same shortcuts, but one way is cheating while the other is somehow legit, whether that be through money or friends or whatever.

Furthermore, is it cheating to instantly walk into a game and automatically be handed everything that normally would take days or weeks to earn? Using a cheat program, yes. Joining a friend who has been playing and gives it to you, no. I think that line is a lot closer than people would admit.

You are 100% incorrect. UO Assist was the only 3rd party app they ever approved.... at the time I was playing.

UO Extreme, on the other hand, was a cheat program.

UOA only got approved after the last target macro got cut. Fuckers.
