Berkley's study on the effects of the increased minimum wage shows a positive outcome. Their study focused only on restaurant workers.
Washington did a study and it found the increase in minimum wage actually cost workers money because they were getting less hours. They focused on ALL minimum wage earners, not just the one industry where hours really wouldn't be affected.

Finally, something that can bring us all together... people on both sides of the issue can shout FAKE NEWS at the other.

Both studies have significant shortfalls. The Washington study used a poorly comparable "comparison" zone defined as most of the rest of Washington state, which is unlikely to be representative of Seattle's economy. Neither is definitive, and both (surprise) support the biases and economic theories of the people who conducted each study.
