I do go shotgun heavy, and that's why I'm rushing in. They don't work long range, obviously. I'm using cover more and trying to flank. I'll be going SMG as well because I'm finding that to be the best dual wield option. Shotguns are slow firing and/or small magazine. I don't loot a lot of ammo because my zerker skill refreshes it. Not as much as I originally thought. But I can spam it every 45 seconds and refresh between/during fights. I'm actually using my zerker skill as a heal more than for killing. My gun selection is just so weak right now. But getting an instant 50% heal just before death is cool.

I keep a backup pistol, but I haven't learned how to change weapons (from inventory) fast. So, it isn't being used.

I want a bigger mini map and to zoom it in some to track allies better. The one time I was extremely split from you guys, I mentioned 'bad guys over here' and went there. You guys went a completely different direction. So, I'm not just leaving. That was a miscommunication. But with my heal, I do plan to be the first in the room, city, etc. I think I have the most survivability.

My skill tree is going to be damage based, instead of tank. Yes, I thought I'd be more tanky. But I'd rather change my play style by using cover and flanking rather than just charging in. I prefer playing that way anyway. I normally play a sniper in games like this, so the 'charge in tank' would be a big change. I will probably be more commando style of play, but being bait when needed as well.

I also think the reward weapon from missions is based on who takes the mission, or who turns it in. So, if Gordon managed all the missions, our rewards would always be snipers. So splitting the missions might be wise as well.

How can the mission reward system tell since characters don't have weapon affinities anymore? Maybe some quest rewards are random but I bet others are hard-coded. Claptrap actually had an audio file that said, "I'll give you a shotgun" compared to Hammerlock's, "I'll give you a sniper rifle" line.

I'll be using SMGs and shotties up close. In between stealthing, I'll either be flanking critters in the thick of things (I get bonuses if I attack ones that aren't attacking me) or keeping my distance until the cooldown. Also found out the duration of my special affects the damage. Longer I stay invis per use, the more damage I do when I attack and break. Less time I spend invis, the quicker the cooldown.

Verdict is ... I need to think about getting a new laptop after the phone. Graphics have been adjusted in the downward direction and the action is much smoother. A glass a scotch away from being ready.

Graphics adjustment made a big difference. Need a 4-man vehicle. Need to hit level 11 to use those SMGs.

Make sure to get your golden keys this weekend. Yeah, its a total crapshoot on what you get, but purples are really good in this game. Even at level 50, they are worth it and still pretty rare. I've now gotten about 5 extra keys from following Randy Pitchfords twitter account (@DuvalMagic). But this is the first time Gearbox has put a solid time on when they will release these codes.

EDIT: Fuck, first code's today at 6. Looks like I've got about an hour after I get back from work to decide.

So how do you get these things? Just log into Borderlands at the designated time, and check your Shift stuff?

It looks like it says that it will be on the "Borderlands Facebook" and the "Gearbox Software Twitter" pages. They will be good for three hours at a time. Those times posted are Central time. So for us East costers the first one will be available from 7-10pm tonight, and the next at midnight till 3am.

And yes, you need to have a shift account if you don't already have one. Its easy, and can be done ingame, just sign up with an e-mail address. Then when you get the code just go ingame and enter in the shift code and the key is yours.

For those of you who don't have facebook or twitter ill post the codes on here when they are made available.

I'm sold. You're going to post the 5am CST one?

EDIT: If we intro some purple guns into our game, you will see a noticeable difference.
