Goddamnit - Running it into the ground

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I know they had a poll up on their website asking people if they wanted Michael back or some other horror story with the Halloween name. The Michael vote won in a landslide.

I wouldn't mind it too much if they got back to what made Michael cool and scary and got away from the standard hack and slash formula.

I've heard that there has been discussion about picking up where Halloween 5 left off and pretending that 6, 7, and 8 didn't happen. (They already ignore 3 since it didn't feature Michael.)

7 and 8 are easily thrown out. 7 was a rip off of Friday the 13th Part 5 in which the "killer" while dressed as the series' "star" turns out to be an imposter. 8 was just total trash.

6 is trickier since it already did pick up where 5 left off. The problem is that the people who did 5, didn't do 6. Thus the "Man in Black" storyline wasn't completed by the people who came up with the idea.

The word is that those people are back on board, so the real story can now be told.

It should be interesting to see what they do.

Maybe I'll have a marathon this Halloween... I never saw any after 3.

Let me save you some time:

1 and 2 kicked ass. I always liked how 2 picked up right where 1 ended and both movies took place over the course of the same evening. These two are considered classics, particularly 1 which has been mentioned in the top ten best horror films ever, and on some lists it is #1.

3 was terrible and had nothing to do with Michael. Nobody should ever have to watch this movie.

4 and 5 were decent. They built upon the Michael backstory and produced a lot of memorable moments and lines. Any fans of Michael and horror fans in general will dig these two entries.

6 was...well I don't remember much of it at all. I know it was bad, but I'd still recommend it to someone just because it picks up where 5 leaves off and it'll be something to compare if they go back and start again from the end of 6 with 9.

7 was really, really, really bad. And as I stated before was a rip off of Friday the 13th Part 5. There is no reason to ever watch this film.

8 was pretty bad as well, but at least it was Michael. This should only be seen by casual horror fans who won't care if a franchise is tarnished.
