Well its only chance I see is if they can put a federal tax on it. Otherwise instead of southerners it could be hippies.

Still superseded by federal law, I'd bet.

True, but as long as this whole "don't arrest anyone complying with state law" thing continues, then it's fine.

CA Prison system is enormous, extremely fat in the wallet, and wants nothing more than more and more reasons to build more prisons.

Add in Tobacco/Alcohol companies, and there is just a sea of money that stands between CA and legalization.

Don't really know but that is sarcasm isn't it? If they did have money they would be the first gov institute with money at lest in Cali.

Sorry, to be more specific I was referring to the prison guard union, and the private companies that supply the prisons.

The state itself is broke as shit. Which sucks, because they are the ones that have the most to gain from legalizing it.

Actually when we were there we discovered that certain counties have legalized the growing of medical pot. Of course with the proper permits. Those counties were brimming with money.

There's an excellent episode of Bullshit on this subject.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
