High on Life

Post by Leisher »

I swear we had an article or video about this somewhere, perhaps in the Rick & Morty thread?

Featuring the voice of Justin Roiland...well, the main game does. The DLC is absent his character. Just like R&M he was dropped here too. (Based on reviews, I did not play the DLC. People say it's overpriced for only 2-3 hours of gameplay.)

An alien crime syndicate called G3 has found Earth. G3's primary business is drugs and those drugs happen to be different life forms. Turns out, humans are the best high. You're a random Earth kid that gets discovered by a sentient gun. Your parents are missing and you, your house, and sister have been warped to an alien planet. Now, with the help of a famous bounty hunter, it's up to you to save Earth.

This is an FPS with only 6 weapons and all are sentient with their own personalities and abilities. Those abilities are decently unique, but your armament lacks a long range gun. Expect to be most effective, and vulnerable, when up close. It also has puzzle elements mainly for traveling around and also for finding chests. The boss fights are solid.

This game is all about humor and there's a lot stolen from other places. As you would expect with Roiland and the space theme, there's some things that seem right out of R&M. There's also a blatant MST3000 copycat, and yes, it's the entire movie.

Notes on the movies: Three other movies are featured back in your home base, where Gene is always watching TV. Like the one in the theater, they're real movies and according to the internets, you can watch them all in their entirety. This is one of them. Demon Wind (1990), Blood Harvest (1987), and Vampire Hookers (1978) are the rest. I think only Demon Wind in the theater though for the MST3000 treatment. FYI: They didn't cut any language, gore, or nudity from the films.

Back to the humor, a lot misses, but there are some good chuckles.

This is a decent grab at $10 or less. It's too short.
