This was Hitchcock's favorite of his own films, reportedly. It's certainly less stylistic than his later work, being one of the first films he made after moving to America. I'd never seen it before. The plot was good, the story, directing, etc all very good. It's interesting how things have changed. The climax of the film... well, it would have been shot differently today. A lot of movies from the 40s through the 70s, the action is just quite fake.
Overall, a solid enjoyable film if you like his stuff.
