We were on-topic. I was giving a low-level demonstration.
But to give you a specific answer: a very good one or a very bad one, depending. If the kid's pretty bright and the parent has done a good job, then sending them out there on their own is a good learning experience and they are protected by their own self-worth and intelligence. But any regular kid out there like that is there because the parents are a) stupid, or b) negligent.
