You probably can't do it, so don't even try.

Diet....contest?

Post by TheCatt »

Restarted again on Saturday when I hit 220 again.

Down to 213.4. I noticed that when I woke up, I was rarely hungry, in general. So I decided to not eat until I was hungry. Which seems to mostly happen around lunchtime. Last night, I think I could have gone without dinner, but ate to avoid being too low in calories. I try now to eat each day between 12pm and 6pm only.

So... unexpected side benefit. I feel WONDERFUL most of the day. Especially in the morning when fasting. My brain is working better, I can focus better, I'm getting a lot of things done, I can follow conversations better , I have more energy. I typically feel better than normal on the keto diet, but the added fasting has put it on hyper drive. It's really weird.

Here's my current diet:

Breakfast - Nothing. I only drink. Water, decaf hot tea (green/white), and 2-3 Diet Dr Peppers until lunch.
Lunch - Fat + heavy. Bacon+Egg+Cheese, or Cheese + pepperoni
Afternoon snack (3-4pm) - Sugar free heavy cream pudding pops (300 calories, almost all fat)
Dinner - Meat + vegetables. (Steak + Asparagus, salmon + broccoli, etc)

I have to travel next week for two days, so that will be my first challenge.

I wake up in the morning with decidedly less brain fog than I used to. I can get going without much prompting... and after I start having my tea + caffeine Im like "WOOOOOOOOO"

One week in, down 7.4 pounds. Obviously a lot of water weight/carb weight there.

So far it feels pretty sustainable. Yesterday, my fed window was super short as I forgot my lunch and had to go home to get it (1pm), then had rock climbing, so had an early dinner (4:30pm). My calories vary a lot day to day. Some days, I've eaten only those 2 meals, other days I add a ~300 calories snack, and one day I ate constantly, like 3,000 calories.

I kinda missing poopin though.

The euphoria is mostly gone. But I still feel better than before I started.

Pro tip: Don't try to get divorced and maintain a diet at the same time.

Life's been chaotic, and I'm fat.

That being said, I have managed to start lifting again (upper body only due to knee), and rode my bike trainer twice this week.

And suddenly, impromptu desert hiking vacation in 39 days.

Let's see if I can lose 25 pounds.

I skipped all the free samples at Costco, today.

This is serious.

I bought a Kirkland multivitamin.

Going to work myself down to two protein shakes, and a vitamin, per day. Period.
