Franklin destroys Pitt.

So Oklahoma got their revenge on OSU. I'm oddly uncaring. Normally I'd be pretty pissed, but my level of fucks to give is way down. No idea why. Maybe it's because I have zero ill will towards Oklahoma? Maybe it's because the last time OSU lost their second game they won the national title? Maybe it's because the team is absolutely loaded for the future and I'm just watching underclassmen play a game against a 5th year senior and a 4th year senior? Those are positives, but I know they're not why I am unaffected by this loss. I guess I've got bigger fish to fry right now at work, school, and with my in laws about to lose their new home to Irma.

I do admit now that JT Barrett isn't a good QB. Poor decision making and an inability to read defenses. No idea what happened to him, but once he broke his ankle, he's never been the same guy. He's just regressed.

Vegas moves Buckeyes from second bet odds to win the title, to third...

As long as JT is our starter, I'd bet against them. I was his biggest fan, but he has not impressed at all.

It's too bad the 6'7" Burrows hurt his hand before the season. I guess he looked amazing at the spring game.

Right? Odds have to be a billion to one. If he nails it, fuck you if you won't give him the three points.

You can't promote yourself for your own company.

Well, as we learned with OSU, you can't sell your own property, so this makes sense. You know, unless you're Alabama and do the exact same thing...twice.

Student-athletes can own and run their own business without violating NCAA rules if it’s not based on their athletics reputation or ability.
Given the current rules: This kinda sorta makes sense, otherwise you'd have people setting up 'companies' and getting $ funneled from boosters, etc.

I thought the same thing, but it's still one of those areas that feels wrong.

It feels wrong, but it depends on how he markets it, I haven't bothered watching his videos. Overall, I definitely think he should be able to do it, with the NCAA's guidance.

OVerall, I think he should be able to do it anyway, F the NCAA. But that's another matter.

Nebraska sucking is headline news this week.

Why? Because they lost to Northern Illinois, fired their AD, and have had zero success in the Big Ten.

That's the part that people are ripping them for, they never should have joined the Big Ten. They're outclassed and lost their recruiting power in Texas.

This is one of the downsides of mega conferences. Nebraska used to be a football power, but those days are over, and probably never coming back without a major change. Although, I think a lot of the blame also falls on their location and how every school in now on TV every week. Would you rather go to college in Nebraska or some place warm? Nebraska or at a traditional power with a top tier coach in a hip city?

There are many other schools in similar situations. Colorado used to be a name, but not since joining the Pac 10 or 12 or 16... Missouri has completely disappeared since joining the SEC. Basically, if you're not one of the "major brands", you're probably struggling.

Purdue's visitor locker room is a dump.

This isn't the 50s, people. Have A/C in the visitor's locker room, and you know, bathrooms.

Iowa's visitor locker room is still painted pink...

Pink is fine. But it should otherwise pretty much be comparable to the home team.

It's painted pink to give the home team a competitive advantage. Shrinks say pink has a legit effect on your psyche. It calms you and makes you weak.

Ever wonder why Dunkin' Donuts colors are so ugly? It's because they intentionally selected colors to tell you to get the fuck out. They didn't want people sitting there all day drinking coffee. Make a purchase and get out.

McDonalds did that a while back with the crappy red + yellow tones, but mellowed them out cuz of the poor association.

But that's fine. Little games are fine. Two toilets, no A/C, and a shitty locker room, are not.

Sorry, I wasn't defending Purdue, just pointing out what Iowa gets away with. They should be forced by the NCAA to paint the locker room neutral tones.

Just like I think Boise State's blue field is cheating. They wear jerseys with the exact same color pattern. That means, they're basically wearing camouflage on the field.

How about the 3 a.m. fire alarms in the hotel of a visiting school/team (I'm pretty sure that happened last year to either the Steelers or Buckeyes.)?
