Swimming
I'm guessing. 36 minute mile is the only thing that makes sense. K ep in mind I go almost 2 miles when I swim, so only one mile would be faster without those slower second mile numbers in there.

Every time I do a 10-stroke length I think "How the fuck does Catt do this in 8."
Well, not every time.
Probably.

Strong arms? Efficient stroke? Who the hell knows.
I'll try to count once I'm back in the water again. I haven't been using the swim watch this week.
It's not me, it's someone else.

My reckon is that 20 extra pounds I am still hauling. I was 206 on Wednesday. Like I said elsewhere, plateaued my weight loss. I need to bear (bare?) down more for a couple months to get that last 20.... but need the motivation, first.

I'm down to 197. My goal is 175. My motivation is getting better at swimming, rock climbing, and biking. My goal is to stay at 175.

Swimming goal. Back in 2001/2002 I trained for a 5-mile race in St. Croix. Longest training swim I did was 3 miles, and between meeting my wife, taking on a new job, and life in general, got too busy to swim for the full 5. My wife and I still went to the event, but made it part of our honeymoon, and I didn't swim.
No regrets not swimming back then, but I'd like to do some kind of super swim eventually. I know I can do 2km, even 4km... not sure if I could manage the 7.25km or 10km.

For no particular reason I went too hard today.
First 20 minutes I was probably on a 1:50 pace, it felt OK so I kept doing it.
Second 20 minutes I was feeling it, and really pushing hard to maintain a sub-2 minute pace.
Third 20 minutes I pretty much wiped, and I could see on the lap clock that I was adding 2 seconds each 100 yards. I knew I was done and quit at 52 minutes.
Still averaged 1:57/100yrds, over 52 minutes.

Sometimes I wonder what the young kid lifeguards think about the old man that gets in and swims a solid hour, faster than everyone else.
I like to think they're impressed but they're probably just annoyed and hope I have a heart attack.

I was told to tell you that The North has come for your shoulders.

Swimming
I even used 9 strokes on some of those last few laps
But I cannot find my swim watch, which is annoying, so I had to manually count things.
