Dumbass.
Dumbass.
I bought a new HD because the file server was getting a little crowded and I accidentally bought a SCSI drive instead of the SATA drive like how I meant.
Catt, or anyone else, do you have any use for a new 3TB SCSI drive?
This exact one. I can't return it, have had it too long.

Re: Dumbass.
I offered you a free 3TB SATA drive a while ago.
But, no, I have no use for SAS drives at home. eBay?

Re: Dumbass.
I don't remember. I remember purchasing 2 SSDs from you.

Re: Dumbass.
Already on ebay. I must have been drunk the day I bought this. The price alone should have raised a red flag.

Re: Dumbass.
If you haven't shipped it yet, don't. It isn't selling on ebay for what I want, and I just learned SAS ---> SATA adapters existed.

Re: Dumbass.
OK... good, cuz I completely forgot But if you need it later, let me know.

Re: Dumbass.
SAS to SATA converter arrived... doesn't work. Did more research. Turns out even with the converter I still need a SAS controller.... oh, that's useful.
COntacted newegg for leniency on their return policy, as a long time customer.... and fuck... I bought it on newegg, but it was a 3rd party seller, an invisible process until times like right now. So newegg sent an email to them on my behalf but I am not confident. I am only going to get about $80 for this fuycking thing on ebay that I spent $180 on.

Re: Dumbass.
Sorry to hear that. But should I go ahead and send over a drive?

Re: Dumbass.
Holy fucking shit, they're giving me a refund.
For the record, EOL Tech, Inc. has great customer service.
I'm going to leave them good feedback on the product page, too.

Re: Dumbass.
Let me think about it. I already bought a 3GB drive I could use, then we had the discussion about how you had some for sale. But for right this second my storage is OK.TheCatt wrote:Sorry to hear that. But should I go ahead and send over a drive?
What did we say, just pay the shipping? I might do that anyway if it's less than $20. Saving $ for xmas. Let me consider.

Re: Dumbass.
I think there was a technical glitch with my RMA at newegg.
Return got approved yesterday afternoon, but last night at about 10pm I got a "return received" notification email, and then a "return approved, money will be put back in your account" notification email. I didn't see the emails until just now. The return got put into the mail just this morning, to California.
Soooooo.............................. yeah. Ok. Cool. Some 3rd-party-seller-weirdness.

Re: Dumbass.
I've seen RMAs completed like that as soon as the package is first scanned by the shipping service. But never before it was even sent. Nice customer service.

Re: Dumbass.
And I just received an emailed invoice saying they credited my card.
This is so weird.

It's almost like they respect the customer or something. Madness.

I don't even know how to respond to this.

Re: Dumbass.
Final wrinkle:
On Friday I realized the card I used 5 months ago to purchase that hard drive... soon after that I got a new replacement card with a chip on it. That's fine. But they were going to try to refund to a card number that no longer existed... sigh. It never ends.
Or does it? I was going to call them today with the new card number to sort this all out, but this morning I got a check in the mail from newegg for the full refund amount.
Just surprisingly good customer service from beginning to end.
