I think I'll stick to keeping my WCS in my cargo ship after all. I'm risking everything on these cargo runs, so best to be as safe as possible.

When you go to the map screen to plot your course you can have it auto avoid certain sectors by security rating. For when you know you won't be watching the screen to be on the safe side.

You might want 2 or 3 WCS units in your cargo ship. I had a WCS the other night when I was attacked in a belt. I still couldn't warp as it said I was scrambled. Don't know if hers was more powerfull than my WCS, or if she was wearing two disruptors. But, I couldn't go anywhere and I had a WCS.

Warp Distruptor Range 20k Str -1
Warp Scrambler Range 7.5k Str -2

If she was close, she was using a scrambler.

When did this happen? Did you die?

OOhhhh. Scramblers and Disruptors. . . interesting. I think she was pretty close.

So there I was, in some 0.0 space trying to tank a battleship. I never ate through his shields to find out what his armor was like, but at the rate things were going, I was going to eat his shields away without dying. I was able to heal faster than he could damage me with those HUGE exploding things. I saw some negative sec people enter the area, so I started watching things closer. Then I had an orange name with a skull show up in the overview. Since I already had a battleship on me, I warped out to some random planet. Used up my cap and warped to another planet. This should place me between planets as I don't have enough cap to get to the destination. Long story shorter, I didn't do it right and ended up at another planet, but didn't know it. She shows up in the overview again. Obviously hunting me then. . . First instinct was to run again. Ahhh fuck it. I attempted to see what kind of ship she was flying to figure out if I had a chance. She locked onto me. That distracted me and I didn't look to see what she was flying. My autolock locked onto her. I waited for her to fire so that the aggression stuff was on her. She fired. I hit my launcher to fire back. I got some stupid message saying that this was dangerous, blah, blah, blah. She's firing on me you dipshit game!! I canceled though. Just to make sure she was the aggressor. I hit my launcher again. Same damn message. Well that's stupid. I click ok, and hit the rest of my launchers. She's hitting me with some guns but not doing all that much damage. My missles are taking her shields down faster than she's taking mine down. But, I'm expecting heavy healing in the armor area from her. I keep firing and turn my shield booster on. This continues as my cap is draining. I turn off the shield booster so it doesn't completely drain my cap. Want to keep damage control and hardeners running. This is where I notice she is draining me cause my cap isn't refilling. Her shield is gone and mine is about to be gone. I figure it's time to go. No cap, but I should be able to get SOMEplace. That's when I see I'm scrambled. Hmmm. I have a WCS though. I turn off my damage control and hardeners thinking the WCS isn't getting enough power to work. Didn't help. I notice I'm being webbed as well. 27k/m or so. This is when I notice her armor isn't healing, and I'm hurting her pretty good. She's hurting me pretty good though too. I start eating into her hull. She heals a bit of her armor. My next volley takes out her armor and a bit more hull. He next volley starts hitting my hull. Then she warps out. My cap starts filling back up and I warp out as well. I turn on the booster to eay my cap. I warp again and MAKE SURE I'm between planets. I sit and try to figure out my next move. I heal my shields in the mean time. Then io shows up on local. Welp, not heading back to Saranen now!! The PK that hit me was still in local. I sit and wait a bit longer. Do some scanning, etc. Finally, I decide to scope the gate that goes to the next 0.0 area. One more 0.0 after that and I can get back to .6 space. I head to the gate, but warp to 100km. Figure if anyone's there, I'll be far enough away that they won't be able to target me. I warp in and who shows up on the overview? Val, the PK that attacked me. DAMN IT!! I'm waiting to slow down so I can warp out again. Before I get down to speed, she's gone. Jumped out. I warp away anyway in case she comes back. I still have no armor and some hull damage. I wait a bit and head back to the gate. It looks clear and I continue on to .6 space.

Them's the bloody details. No, I didn't die. Yes, I think I got lucky it wasn't a more better PK. I would have pod killed her to get the 1 million bounty on her (except she would have warped away). Looking back, I'm pretty sure she was flying a rifter. I had scanned one, and I'm pretty sure she was in a frigate based on the damage I was doing with my scourge and bloodclaws (BC's doing more damage). I have her named stored someplace for the list.

Oh ya, it happened Sunday afternoon.

A person highlighted orange is a PK?

How do you warp to between planets?

And for that matter, what is a "more better" Pk?

Leish,
1) A person Highlighted yellow has a negative security status.
2) A person with a sec status below -5.0 can be attacked freely, anywhere
3) A person blinking red has been flagged for whatever reason, could be they are attakcing you, the corp or someone else. It's like being grey in UO terms.

highlighted = negative security rating
skull = killed someone in <= .4 space

highlight + skull = 99% chance of PK.

I've seen many a highlight person. I think I am beneath their notice.

I rule.

Highlighted orange + a skull = they have a bounty on them.

They can only attack you in <.4 space else they get blasted by guards.
