Shit. Just realized I posted this in the private forum. hehe Can't delete it though.

Gordon and Sam both fell to a PK tonight. Two different incidents. Gordon's was my fault though cause I left him behind. :-)

Troy and I went back after him. First time, he targeted Troy and was doing much damage. We were doing a little more to him though and the PK had to run away. Troy healed up and we went back. PK showed up again, same thing happened. PK stayed around a bit longer this time. Did more damage to Troy. We did more damage to him. At one point, I thought Troy was gonna die. PK had him really low. However, in order to do that, the PK would have had to stay behind for one more shot. And that's all Troy and I needed to kill him. So once again, PK runs at last second. No kills were scored.

He had some mad damage guns blazing on Troy long with some movement inhibitors of some kind. My heavy missles weren't doing enough damage. Need to train up some more missle/targeting skills. Over all, not bad for a couple of newbs. He was obviously in a very well equiped frigate and had some skills.

Gordon and Sam will be avenged.

I'm actually inspired to revamp the TKV site and start some EVE logs. Troy will get a whole new perspective as far as the TKV site is concerned. heheh

Oh, and over all, the PVP was very rewarding. Ok, granted, I didn't die! But it was still rewarding to be able to go after him and try to take him out. AND know that if/when we did, it would actually hurt/cost him and I would be rewarded with more than just a 'rep' point.

PVP was nothing more than:

Right click, select target
Wait for target acuisition
Click on all weapons
Watch damage pile up on various ship
Keep in good weapon range
Watch bad guy warp out just before killing Troy/dying

Not the chasing click fest macro crunching PVP of UO. But, there was only one bad guy. . . So far, so good.

Bit more complicated for me.

I was busy trying to use my energy to do 4 things at once, of which I ran out each time... so I probably didn't a manage correctly.

Stuff I was trying to do:

Paint Target: Make us do more damage to him
Use Boosters to be a moving target: problamatic due to his engine drainer(we think)
Recharge my own shields: again, nearly died, so didnt do a stellar job of that.
Kill him: only had two assault launchers for the job, but they did fire both faster and for more damage than cakes heavies, something to remember.

I had 4 heavies and a standard throwing things at him. Might be running with two heavies, two standards and a railgun. Didn't know till tonight that heavies do less damage on Frigates.

I'd really really really like to figure out what "natural phenomenon" kept me from warping out. It didn't affect anyone else.

Buying a Caracal/blackbird tonight,

I won't be going on another outing with the gang without 3x assault launchers, a couple jammers, and a propulsion slower. I'll be the ultimate anti frigate, everyone else will just need to worry about the cruisers!

I also stocked up the Cap Charge stockpile with 400 of the 150s only about 1k a piece.

I set up my new forward operations base in Enderailen System, due to proximity of Level 3 agents, and .4 space! Yep, it's the same system we had the PK encounter in!

I believe there are some other good lower level Spacelane Agents in the surrounding sytems as well, if anyone wants to join in making the area a home with me. (remember, lower security means more rewards from agents)

Was reading that the PKs do NOT like Warp Core Stabalizers. They over ride the Disruptors at a low cost. It's similar to the PKs that cry about horses and recall spells. They give the victim an opportunity to escape. It's CRAZY reading the PKs responses.

PK: WCS use is ghey!!
Player: Not everyone wants to sit there and watch their transport ship get blown up and looted.
PK: That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

One guy was actually pissed and his logic was such that "I have spent alot of time and money equiping my ship to find and attack you and make you hold still while I kill you. It's super lame that you can buy stuff to keep me from doing that."

Every PK response was so bad that I would just shake my head. The ONLY readable argument from a PK that I read was something about how the WCS energy/cpu cost was out of wack of the disruptor costs. The distruptors are medium slot with high core/cpu cost. WCS is low slot with very little energy/cpu cost. And they REALLY hate it when you put the WCS on a combat ship cause that's just super lame ghey.

In summary, every ship should leave room for a WCS.

1) wtf? Everything that is not a cheat is fair. The end.

2) People think that something acting remotely, over a larger distance, onto another ship should be equal to something acting locally, in the same ship, over a very short and specific distance? So making a full-court shot and one right behind the 3-pt line should be equal chances, cuz they're both worth 3 points? I reject that argument too.

...

I've had that natural phenom thing before on regular missions... but no idea what it was.
It's not me, it's someone else.

The Natural Phenomena is because you were trying to jump back to the Deadspace gate.

Since we had to use a Acceleration gate to get from the 1st point to the "dungeon" you cannot jump back to it normally.

If you had chosen a planet, or other location, you would have been ok.

I got that message, too, and I'm pretty sure I was trying to jump to a station ... but I may have tried to come back to Troy or something so I could be wrong.
