They've dumped that idea though because they figure it'd be too much like the first film.

I couldn't find any word from Bruce Campbell on this, but I did find something similiar.

One of the possible endings for Freddy v. Jason was that they were supposed to go down to hell & meet Pinhead. Another was that they'd fight in a gladiator pit for eternity for Lucifer's amusement. The dude that put it together was called Ryan Schifrin. He's making a flick called "Abominable" about the Yeti or some such. ABC was probably doing either a piece on him or how Hollywood is too violent or the recent wave of horror flicks. Checking out "Abominable" on imdb yields a result or two on the film's BBS.

After a brief check on what Robert Englund has said, he'd like to work w\ Jamie Lee Curtis &\or Tony Todd (as Candyman) for the next flick, as opposed to bringing in Michael Myers or Ash.
