Recently burned through this whole series. It wasn't awful for a network TV sitcom in this political climate.
They really left politics out, which was surprising considering how the point of the show is that modern families are different from traditional ones. All of the characters are likeable, including the guest stars, except for Ed O'Neil's ex played by Shelly Long. A show that would, and apparently did, appeal to people on both sides of the political aisle, different races, ages, religions, etc.
Two notable episodes: There's one where Claire is talking to everyone via FT and the last episode of S10. Both are hilarious.
Glad I watched it.
