Prisoners (2013)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Prisoners (2013)

This movie doesn't get enough love.

Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal headline this suspense thriller that also features Viola Davis and Terrence Howard.

Hugh/Maria Bello and Viola/Terrence are really close couples who are celebrating Thanksgiving when their youngest daughters are abducted. Jake is the lead detective on the case. A suspect is found rather quickly only to be absolved of the crime just as fast. Now it's a race against time as Hugh takes matters into his own hands.

Don't expect Taken levels of "dad rage action". This is more Silence of the Lambs in the way the plot moves forward. Everyone's acting at a high level here and the script is pretty solid. There are enough players involved that it should leave you somewhat guessing.

Good film. Kind of a shame it doesn't get discussed more often. It's miles better than other missing kid movies that have gotten more hype.

Bump. Same director as Arrival and upcoming Dune. Saw it on the plane. This one shows how good he is - It’s excellent too. Crime drama who-done-it. Very nice. Better than anything similar I’ve seen.
