Bushwick

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Bushwick

Yay Netflix!

Dave Bautista is an ex-Marine who lives in Bushwick when some sort of invasion begins. He wants to get to his wife and kid and helps a pretty blonde find her way out.

I really enjoyed the concept behind this film to a point. Initially, the mystery of what was going on was fascinating, but then the motives are revealed, and...poop. This, literally, could never happen. Also, implying this sort of force could hold back the U.S. Armed Forces is insanity.

Hint: Racism is bad. The message of the bad guys is hilariously flawed. See, they think hitting an area predominantly minority is smart because they won't be able to organize and fight back. How stupid! Racism is bad! Then you realize the two heroes of the film are white and are the sole reason anyone is fighting back. Then you have to think, "Maybe they're onto something." So yeah, conflicting messages equal poor writing.

Bautista was good too. He wasn't your typical "action movie hero that's awesome at everything". He could be hurt, wasn't perfect in fights, and didn't have all the answers.

Not a happy movie, and ultimately disappointing. Starts with great promise, but it goes unfulfilled.

Skip it.
